Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279 63Jan 03, 2012 1:01 pm Just went for a drive around the area that we are thinking about building and all the homes that are in the process of being constructed have workmen there today. Maybe you'll get lucky Mupparoo and they'll get started on your home today! Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279 65Jan 17, 2012 7:40 am Well it seems like forever but after Coral giving excuse after excuse why nothing has been done the frame finally arrived today.. Lets see how long it takes to go up, because so far it has been slow motion with this lot.. Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279 67Jan 17, 2012 10:25 am Exzy That sucks Yep all last week lost because "apparently" the framing company didnt come back to work till the 16th Jan. On top of that supervisor telling me he is claiming 8 rain days (when in fact it was nowhere near that figure, i was on holidays and live 3km away and it rained for 2 days) in one block then head office sending me a letter for 10 days Can only get better from here. Im hoping anyways haha.. The process was great up until i had signed and gave them the 10% deposit.. Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279 71Jan 25, 2012 7:36 am Hey ESB yes things seem to rolling along nicely now.. Frame is all done, windows done, bath in, front door frame in, guttering done and roof tiles were delivered yesterday. Supervisor wants to meet onsite today to go through the variations we done to make sure we are on the same page. I bit the bullet and got an independent inspector so he has given me a handfull of things that need looking at otherwise im a bit happier now things seem to moving haha.. Hows is yours going?? Settled in well and got everything done?? Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279 73Jan 30, 2012 9:00 pm Meeting with the electrician onsite at 8.30 in the morning. Shouldnt be any major shocks there, only added a few extra power points, lights and tv point. Have a good deal with a mate who is going to the majority of the electrical work once were in. Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279 74Jan 31, 2012 11:41 am Great to see things progressing, muppardo! I just read your thread from the beginning, and we had over a month between our selection appointment and receiving the variation document, so I understand how frustrated you would have been. It was close to Christmas for us, so I suspect they were deliberately holding us up to avoid having to start before Christmas. Weird though, the weeks got away from me and I was so cranky that I hadn't followed up earlier! As everyone keeps telling me, Coral admin is slow but their build time is good and fast! Looking forward to seeing your house come together. Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279 75Jan 31, 2012 1:15 pm Thanks Maddan.. And yes it does feel a long drawn out saga waiting for things to happen. I must say though since christmas has been done and drama waiting on frames for a week things have been rolling along nicely. A couple of issues to sort out with the building regarding floorboards and kitchen bench otherwise no complaints at all. Roof tiles was all done this morning and they were just cleaning up, meeting with electrician went really well, nothing was a hassle with him which was great.. Amazing to look through your entry, it looks so different to ours but the same plan. --------------------- Sent from my mobile device so please excuse my typing missed cakes. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Building with Coral - Noosa 279. Gyprock Pics 79Feb 11, 2012 9:42 pm Thanks ESB.. Its funny we are already walking through the house thinking/wishing we had made changes to some things here and there.. I love the portico look and the 3 slim windows (basically stole from the display no clever thinking haha) I know what you mean about looking different, i was thinking that about your kitchen, it was one of the ideas i wish i had seen earlier and made the bench meet the wall next to the pantry!! Ahh well guess we will do all those things next time hey..!! Got the fit out starting on the 22nd and bricks hopefully Monday, things are certainly going quickly now. Seems we are going down there everyday now and taking the camera because there is something new. Dreading the quotes thought of having to fork $$ out for driveways, turf, blinds, fencing, electrical (post contract) and furniture. Will need a second job i think haha!! Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
