If you have specifically asked for a certain height for that reason they should ensure its correct!!!!! And for a cabinet maker i would expect at most 5mm tolerance! (I can tell you that most builders would not accept that much tolerance in window frames!! Sheesh!!!) Do you think its been installed at the standard 1800 height? I didn't realise how many fridges that height removed from our options! Lucky we were able to get one to suit - we have 10mm leeway at the top, but we did measure the gap first to check!! I love love love your flooring!!!!!! It is gorgeous! And makes your kitchen colours absolutely POP!!!! Is it really just a laminate?! That's pretty darn good looking laminate!!! You have done amazing with your colours! Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. Going to measure it this arvo. Re: Chuffy's Bedfordale Build: advice needed! 848Dec 17, 2012 11:06 pm Overheads sorted - should have new ones in on Friday Need some advice on this though please! Our floorboards were finished today and we noticed the tiles for bathroom are highly elevated on one side - so much so we now have a gap where the boards join up (see pic). Obviously we couldn't pick this up at PCI as it wasn't noticeable! Not sure if it's because the slab might not be level anyway, we will put it down on our maintainence form but wondering what, if anything, the builder can/should do and if there's nothing that can be done, what can WE do to hide the gap? Very disappointed with how it looks now Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And here is laundry next door to bathroom that is perfect and how it should be! Re: Chuffy's Bedfordale Build: advice needed! 850Dec 18, 2012 7:24 pm Hi Chuffy, congratulations your house looks beautiful and I love your floors, I looked to see what color but could not find a mention of it so here goes......what color is your timber floors? Sorry I know you probably already said it. I think they will be able to use a larger strip to cover the problem up with the tiles and timber floor, the one they have used is quite small anyway Re: Chuffy's Bedfordale Build: advice needed! 851Dec 18, 2012 7:36 pm Well I have been lucky enough to see Chuffy's new house in real life and... WOW it's truly gorgeous - all of it!! I don't blame you for being disappointed with the difference in height of the bathroom tiles and timber floor (I would be too). Hopefully your builder will do the right thing and sort it out for you. Same goes for the cupboards above the fridge. Your house is something to be proud of Chuffy, you guys have done so well. Excited, we bought the floor from Craft Decor about 18 months ago - its a laminate and the colour is called Forest Maple BUT they rang us a few Weeks after we bought it to buy some back because someone else bought some and didn't have enough - they'd run out! Pretty sure we got the last of it and we didn't sell any back. Thank goodness as we only have 3 boxes left over! Re: Chuffy's Bedfordale Build: advice needed! 855Dec 19, 2012 9:40 am Oh bummer chuff,i wonder if the tile could break on the end due to the difference & being walked on Hope its sorted asap. What a shame about the tiles not being level. Its a bit odd either the slab is not level or they have screeded to high when laying the tiles in that section. I hope your builder have some answers and solutions for you. Re: Chuffy's Bedfordale Build: advice needed! 859Dec 20, 2012 9:28 am Looking great Chuffy! I would be asking for that strip that connects the tiles and floors, like in the other photo you posted. Pretty sure they wouldn't have an issue doing that, it just would be on a little tiny angle cos of the different heights... Don't stress too much over it, a little plastic/metal strip will hide it and you'll never think about it/notice it again! Re: Chuffy's Bedfordale Build: advice needed! 860Jun 21, 2013 2:52 pm Hi all! Sorry for the extremely late post! We are well and truly in, have been very busy trying to get as much done with no money. Back to work soon so we can hopefully get money coming in and get some of the big things done. At the moment I am still 4wd-ing into the garage! Baby Ivy is doing well. Almost 7 months old now!! Hope you all are enjoying your new homes Oh, and the builder got the bathroom tiles ripped up then relayed. The grout was then a different shade so they had to regrout the whole bathroom again Hi All, I engaged a tradie to install concrete retaining wall 600-800mm high over 32 meters in Victoria.
