Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Tonic Homes Perth 2Jan 01, 2013 11:56 am Hi Alex, I am currently building a 2-storey home with Tonic and know of one other party who has already built successfully with them. Although the changes wrought during 2012 by local and sate government (new building permit process, 6-star energy rating etc.) have led to some confusion, Tonic have been thorough in adapting to such changes and have started the job well, with slab down, soakwells in and bricks delivered to begin the building in earnest. Too early to talk about final results but I have confidence in them, especially their director, who is personable and professional. Will keep posted on progress. Re: Tonic Homes Perth 3Feb 24, 2014 12:15 am I have no idea who you are referring to when you say the director was responsible & professional? Nic Multari the Director of Tonic Homes, is the last person on earth will ever fit that description. What our family went through building with Tonic Homes and especially dealing with Nic was a nightmare. We are still suffering the effects 2 years down the track.. Yes Nic can promise you the world & you would think that he is a saint, but in reality, he does not even know the basic facts about building a house. He could never keep his word or be man enough to take responsibility when things go wrong. Our house is falling apart...was not build to the BCA and everything has gone wrong. Nic hires the cheapest he could find, we even have doubt that they are qualified trades people. Brickwork, timber framing, plastering, ceilings, cornices, fittings & fixture ... everything was not done correctly. He managed to turn our dream home to an ongoing horrible nightmare. he doesn't even answer a telephone call or write an email back. So please do not tell me he is professional and responsible! Re: Tonic Homes Perth 4Feb 24, 2014 1:01 am Looked into Tonic when I first started the process and liked their plans however they were not willing to work with me on changes so I ended up going with another builder. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74219 I would never build with Fowler homes.
