We'll be in the same boat as you soon, one project at a time being ticked off the list as we save up funds...sigh. All worth it in the end for our fabulous homes It's finally happening! I have the same storage containers haha Must be awesome to have cupboards finallY!! Thanks Jen... I love any storage containers, I drool looking at them and thinking 'what can I put in you??!' :lol" having cupboards is freakin' awesome! I can put things away and not have to look at them everytime I go in there! Treeseachanger Still lovin your color scheme And how organised are you- all containers labelled and stacked!! Thanks TSC! We've found that the brown/beige/tan colour scheme has come up really well, and especially with splashes of teal everywhere. You don't realise how many teal-coloured things there are out there until you look! turtleschell You are organisation queen. Have you had a housewarming party yet or are you waiting till it's finished? We had housewarmings just before Xmas. I say housewarmingS because various friends were away, so we had two parties to account for everyone! fmac Looks great! Want to come over and organise my house once it's built? I need serious help in that area!! Haha, thanks fmac - I should start a mini business The JJs Super organised (we've come to expect nothing less from you ) and looking fantastic as always....it's good to do things a step at a time, gives you time out for other fun things and also allows you to really be sure about the colours, sizes, styles etc you choose for your house. Yes, all worth it in the end - though the end is not even in sight yet! taking things slow in doing a bit at a time has been good, like you say, to give us time to go over different options and colours and ideas before we implement them. Some things I am DYING to do now - e.g. reshape and finish the driveway, cos it looks weird having sandy gaps either side. But that's roughly a $900 project that we can't afford any time soon. Same with the walk in robe fitout, and activity room fitout... etc etc etc! they'll just have to wait though! And don't tell Dave but I have a list on my laptop called 'Things to Do For Next House'.... So much storage and like that you've done feature tiles. BTW how's Sansa going? Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1429Apr 14, 2013 4:11 pm Love that laundry! I really need to get some overhead cupboards for storing stuff like bleach and draino and nappies. Colours are gorgeous!!! Random question haha Do your cats jump up and eat? Or do you put the bowls down? Mine are driving me nuts and dropping food all over the floor so I am forever cleaning the floor.... and today they tipped over their water bowl and I now have footprints all over the freshly mopped floor... Might have to try putting the food on the bench so even if they spill its cleaner... sigh Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1432Apr 15, 2013 11:43 am Yes, my cats jump onto the bench to eat. I use heavy ceramic bowls for their food and water so they are unable to tip anything over Messy kitties! I would much rather feed my pets outside, but with ants and flies, it's just not a good idea Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1434Jun 12, 2013 9:01 am Hi Zarli all is going well. We are just about to do a few small projects for the house - putting glass shelves in the showers, fitting out the garage with shelving, and putting up an antenna on the roof so I can actually watch normal TV Other than that, not much has changed. The next few projects (repaving and reshaping the driveway, fitting out the study, fitting out the WIR) are all too much out of our budget atm. One day! Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1435Jun 24, 2013 2:14 pm A few little updates. We fitted out most of the garage (shelving sections)... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Dave and I used brackets from Bunnings and planks of leftover wood that we cut up with his parent's table saw. Dirty work but I'm happy enough. There's still stuff on the ground that is being hung up soon (bikes, wheelbarrow) and the crates on the ground will be going into the roof. Then clean floors, yay! We also put a glass shelf up in the shower which makes me uber happy. I was sick of things being piled up on the ledge. Ggrr. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We bought the aerial for the roof but forgot the bracket to actually attach it, so still need that before we can continue... Lol. Dave has been installing network points and powerpoints everywhere when I find a spot is lacking... He just put them in the bedroom yesterday so we can finally watch TV via the Xbox in bed... and he put one in the garage, which he is really excited about cos he had nowhere out there to charge anything before. He had to use the kitchen bench as his charging station for his drill batteries, lol. I've been really involved in Burlesque lately so that's taking a small amount of our income but now the end of the tax year has rolled around, my income may get a tiny increase so we should still be able to save a bit... Money has been the biggest issue but Dave is only 6-12 months away from completing his apprenticeship... Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1436Jun 24, 2013 6:11 pm Is Dave a sparky? Love the garage setup, need to get something like that going in ours. We STILL can't park cars in ours yet coz of the junk. Will be using yours as inspiration. His parents are very handy people and he's grown up to have a lot of different skills under his belt. Ahh yes, I was sick and tired of only fitting one car in the garage! Coming up to winter, I wanted both of us to be able to park in the garage and keep the cars dry for when we leave for work in the mornings, so it was an urgent thing Wheelbarrow - a rounded hook angled slightly inwards at the bottom, like a cradle for the wheelbarrow to sit in, and a hook at the top that lifts up to release it and drops down to keep it in place.
