Time line on P1. Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1307Oct 28, 2012 11:15 pm Those roo paws sound awesome! I was told that, even though kangaroo paws are natives, they're quite hard to grow. Maybe it's only certain varieties?? I had some at one of my favourite rentals and they were beautiful, but 2 of the 5 plants died. They were the traditional green and red ones and I loved them! I LOVE flying. Good thing I'm the one doing FIFO then I agree that humans travelling at great speeds in the air is unnatural and weird, but I'm actually more afraid of traffic on the roads than flying.... Even though I love driving too.... Ok, I just love travel. I'll shut up now Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1308Oct 29, 2012 4:52 pm Hellooooo! Good thing you like plane travel, Caz, you're now in the perfect job! and to be fair, apparently traveling on the road is more dangerous than the air so fair enough! I flew Jetstar and their creaky little planes. Unfortunately I also had seats next to the wing (my bad) so I tried really hard not to look outside and imagine the wing falling off. I survived, obviously, so all is well and my feet are firmly back on solid ground! Netfest was AMAZING. Surfers Paradise is boootiful, I stayed at the QT Hotel and it was all kinds of comfortable and the netball was awesome. So many people! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Gggrrrrr, my house sitter while I was away forgot to water the roo paws, so when I went outside this morning, they were all limp and on their sides. I watered each of them thoroughly before I went to work so I'll keep an eye on them. I had our cat door installed last Monday, so once we fix up the laundry side of the house (the backyard shall be cat proof, so we are putting shade cloth down the laundry side to stop them from getting onto window sills and then onto the fence), they will have free range. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Landscapers are there today!! they were SUPPOSED to come last wk Thursday/Friday, but thanks to the neighbours across the road stuffing them around with changed garden plans, they had to work all the way through to the end of the week. but whatever, they are there now so all is good Some preliminary pics... And they are still lovely Dave is home, our landscaping is done, the back security door is going in next week, our new theatre modular is being delivered tomorrow, AND this weekend we will do the shade cloth down the laundry side of the house so the cats can officially roam free! Can I be a sticky beak and ask what kind of lawn it is. Its just lovely. And so so green!!!! I love the kangaroo paws. I was at kings park this morning and they were flowering everywhere!! Actually some good examples for garden beds there!! Thank you Jen, it's is terribly bright green isn't it!? Every time I come up the street, I get a thrill of excitement and the roo paws are beautiful in flower, I agree! Kings Park is a beautiful place. Charnley Wow what a difference that lawn makes. I bet you are so happy not to have sand everywhere. Can I be a sticky beak and ask what kind of lawn it is. Its just lovely. I am SO happy to have lawn instead of sand!! of course you can ask, it is Palmetto Buffalo very thick and springy! CC101 OMG - front looks so beautiful. No more sand now. Did you do retaining wall in front yourself? Thank you CC101, that's lovey to hear. No, we didn't do the wall ourselves, we hired a friend of a friend, he was a professional brickie so he knew what he was doing. I am definitely thrilled with it. off2theburbs Very nice lawn Did your estate pay for landscaping or have you paid for it ? Hello off2theburbs! Our estate (MIRVAC) paid for the front and rear landscaping. I paid an extra $200 for the landscapers to do some earthworks for me, e.g. bringing in fill for the backyard and spreading out the piles of dirt out the front, etc. The buffalo grass upgrade (from wintergreen) would usually have been $5-6 per square metre, but we had it thrown in for free Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1315Nov 02, 2012 10:57 pm Wow Ally, it looks awesome!!! Will have to do some research re palmetto and sir Walter Re: Building the Sorrento by Scott Park Homes 1316Nov 02, 2012 11:29 pm Thanks Chuffy! Yes, I did a lot of research and decided Buffalo was the best grass. I had the choice of Palmetto and Sir Walter, but I can't remember my reasoning for going with Palmetto! But oh well! We still have our blue lounge in the theatre so we'll just have to suck it up. The sand is gone and we have lawn and I am therefore happy! Ask for references and speak to them.
