But i must say i've seen Matt's place and hmmmm.....no comment.... i can definitely understand his frustration/anger.... Thanks Phoenix! I’m sure Matt will move beyond the building frustrations and start to enjoy his beautiful home. I think anyone who gets a house built goes through many stages of frustration. I'm sure one of the reasons (besides health and safety) many builders don’t allow access to the house during construction is so a lot of the problems are covered up before they are noticed. Take plenty of photos especially of identified problems, to give you a reminder of what they are and to ensure they are properly fixed. When you buy an established house you never really know the quality of the build. Re: The downpipe and the outside light ... problem fixed! 23Feb 03, 2008 8:30 pm kiwi056, I’m sure Matt will move beyond the building frustrations and start to enjoy his beautiful home. You would think so wouldn't you? I have just spen the whole (uncomfortable) weekend without Air Conditioning... I thought I was over the bashing of Carlisle Homes...It appears not! Phoenix, But i must say i've seen Matt's place and hmmmm.....no comment.... i can definitely understand his frustration/anger.... I tell you!!! I have had a few visitors over the weekend and I am making extra sure to point out all the faults still outstanding. I even had a few new ones pointed out to me. (The cabinet makes is not going to be happy...) No Air Con and no response from Carlisle Homes makes for an unhappy client again. Adrian B, morons...... kiwi056, Hardly a fair comment, I’m sure if Matt checked his plans that he signed off the downpipe is marked in that spot. I did! It was my mistake 100%. But you would think that it could have been rectified much easier by a builder than myself with no plumbing experience at all. SouthBris, thought knowing how to build a house WAS the builders job... EXACTLY! They do it everyday! We might do it 1 - 3 times in our lifetime. Adrian B, I think there are many many people on this forum that have hired an independent building inspector, and have been very very glad they did. Its an unfortunate indictment on the quality of some builders. Without Kevin the quality of the finish both inside and outside my house would be half of what it is now and it still requires a lot of work at maitainence. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17618 |
