Head to site immediately after work yesterday and as promised, site has been cut. Funny thing is, most people have their site cut after having tap, temp fencing and plumbing but we have none of that yet. Not sure why they do things differently this time around. Slab on Tuesday huh? I guess u will have frames and everything up before Christmas. Wow. Next two weeks going to be super exciting for you. Will you be having waffle or raft slab? Re: Our Monaco Q1 - Mernda Villages - We have a cut site 49Dec 12, 2011 1:21 pm congratulations on the start of your new home!!! have they said anything to you about a slab before Christmas? We went friday and the aggy(spelling?) pipes, down pipes and peg's were all out and FH went out yesterday and the rest of the plumbing had been finished. So looks like they are on track. we are a H class waffle slab...im pretty sure it's H class - high clay... Re: Our Monaco Q1 - Mernda Villages - We have a cut site 53Jan 13, 2012 6:14 pm Hi mak! Is your slab done yet? Have you had any tradies started work on your build since break finished yet? We got our permits in the mail last week so fingures cross our site start is sometime next week. Do you know how long it took from the time you had permits and time they started site scrape? Noticed you are putting in a pool. Me and my wife started looking at getting a pool also but in the end our yard was too small and pools were too pricey so we have decided to get a portable spa now. It a compromise but a good one haha Our Monaco Q1 - Mernda Villages - We have a cut site 54Jan 13, 2012 9:20 pm Hey...we sure do have a slab! So exciting. The slab is massive! Imageshack on my phone freezes so I can't upload photo's yet I promise I will. It's so exciting once it starts. I met our neighbors today...very nice ppl. A pool is expensive and will put a big dent in our pockets but like I said to the fiancé we don't have kids and we are getting married so we can have a "pool registry" to put it simply lol. Might as well do it hard now and pay off as much as poss before kids come along. Worst case scenario we sell if we can't afford it:))) Ummmmm I think we started within 10 days because it was pushing to the end of the 30(?) days construction start from contract. We were hoping the slab would have been done by Xmas but I think they closed up a week earlier then everyone else and it was poured today wood hooo The fiancé put our initials in the entry funny man Re: Our Monaco Q1 - Mernda Villages - We have a cut site 55Jan 14, 2012 12:04 am mak_ Hey...we sure do have a slab! I got home yesterday to our first invoice. 10% bye bye...to then have our frame up today!! Imageshack is having a fit and I can't upload from my phone, so tonight ill get it all sorted through the Mac and upload pics. I know it's still ages away but we have been trying to find tilers...so many are booked out until the 2nd half of the year!! We are going to go with 300x600 polished porcelain in the main areas and carpet to bedrooms, retreat and living room. I have been drawing up a mock backyard...there is so much we can do. I need to put pics up this is hard to explain - because they raised our block at the back our house sits MAJORLY high... ridiculously high...standing on our slab our back fence is about 500mm high...we need to excavate the whole back area behind the house. absolute nightmare i will keep everyone posted with Pictures tonight Re: Our Monaco Q1 - Mernda Villages - We have a cut site 57Jan 17, 2012 7:50 pm mak_ thanks alpal...talk about moving quickly!! I have approximated about 60m of retaining walls are required at my block - I could be doing walls for the rest of my life!
