Thanks for monitoring our build, just hope you wont be disappointed since we just kept things simple nothing flashy. Good luck with your build too! We visit the site almost everyday, and its been 27 days since they poured the slab. We visit the site almost everyday, and its been 27 days since they poured the slab. Hi aries24, Hopefully I can provide a bit of info to help you understand what's happening with your job. If I'm not mistaken, your slab was poured around the 16th December, which is the last day before the construction industry pretty much shuts down. All our suppliers and tradesmen break for the festive season from around the 19th, right through to the 9th Jan. Our office was open again from the 3rd, but with suppliers and trades still away, our Supervisors can't do much, so they mostly returned to work on Mon 9th. They're back with a vengeance this week, and you should see action again in the near future. I understand the shy reluctance to call your supervisor, but I'd encourage you to build a strong relationship with both your Supervisor and client Liaison Officer, because both can provide any information and updates that you want, and it prevents the frustration of not knowing . They're a good bunch (let me know if you ever find someone that's not), and you should hear from your CLO and Supervisor with updates on alternating weeks (again, I'm keen to hear if that's ever not the case). I'm also available any time, for any concerns, so please don't hesitate to contact me. Our feeling right now is not really about frustration, since we know redink is on top of things , but more of anticipation and eagerness to get the build back up ang rolling. We understand that things slowed down or came to a halt due to the holidays which we have anticipated, thats why we were glad that the slab was poured before the holidays to give time for the slab to cure. We haven't contacted our CLO or supervisor since we just rely that redink works on its plans and schedule and there's no sense to badger you . We would surely build a good relationship with them once the build gets going again, since we would really be closely monitoring the progress and visit the site everyday, if possible. (We have been visiting the site almost everyday anyway , even though nothing has been going on due to the holidays). Yes you are right, they are back with a vengeance, as we have noted on the other builds close to our site. The brick walls were put in pretty quickly on them. I was told my work will start on 09 Jan, nothing happened. I eargly waited every day for work to start and called my clo on 12 Jan and was advised that it is booked to start from 16 Jan, but no movement yet and no one has advised us as to why work is not started. cc101 Re: Building with redink homes 76Jan 19, 2012 12:34 am CC101 Hi CT Fully agree with your above comments but what do we do to avoid fun turning into frustration. If it wasn't your supervisor that told you work would start on the 9th, I'd speak to that person (I was under the impression it was just the roof timbers being delivered on the 9th). I got phone call this morning from my site supervisor that they have not got nails (and work will start once nails are delivered). Don't know why nails were not ordered when we signed our final prestart costing on 10 July, then we send reminder email on 30 August and futher email on 29 November. Before Christmas, my client laison officer had told me that the work will start from 9 Jan. When i talked to my client liason officer again on 12, she advised me that the carpenter is booked for work to start on 16 Jan. regards cc101 sorry aries - hijacked your thread for a while.
