Drysdale 30 - PD - A slight delay but good news PHOTO UPDATE 222May 22, 2012 4:13 pm Hi JLD! The house has been great, it's so nice living in our new house We have had a few issues which include... *Problems with the wiring. Our light switches in two of our rooms only work when they feel like it *Heating works perfectly but the cooling doesn't work at all *Looks like we have a leak in our roof (all of a sudden we can see an out line of the trusses through the plaster on the roof) *Plumber came to fix our laundry sink and didn't tighten the tap so after he left our laundry flooded and no one was home so we didn't notice for 4 hours... But other then that things have been great Sent from my iPhone so please excuse my spelling mist cakes Building the Drysdale 30 Wallara Waters, Wallan My Blog : http://www.ourwallanhome.blogspot.com My thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=50975 Drysdale 30 - PD - A slight delay but good news PHOTO UPDATE 223May 22, 2012 4:14 pm Oh and our SS is currently looking into all the above so hopefully it's all fixed quickly! Just curious if you have moved in by now? Do you have any tips about selecting colours - your choice looks good but by now if you have felt about changing anything? you have mentioned about security doors - has it been supplied by PD? looks fancy cost there! Drysdale 30 - PD - A slight delay but good news PHOTO UPDATE 227Jun 18, 2012 7:46 am Hi Our_first_home. I saw your post last week but didn't have a chance to reply. First up, congrats on having such good taste in homes, the Drysdale is beautiful, we have been living in it for 7 weeks. I'll try to post some photos soon. A few tips for your colour and electrical: *Go in knowing what you want and don't let yourself be talked out of it. Everything in my house was meant to be black and white but I've ended up with the bottom cupboards in my kitchen being dark brown because I listened to the "colour consultant" who said our colour was black with grey in it. IT'S BROWN! lol. (We had the only male there if that makes a difference!) *Upgrade your carpet underlay, it costs next to nothing ($343) and is SO worth it *Look at where your light switch is in the master bedroom. Ours is around the corner from the door so it's a couple of steps in and around before you find it. Try and move it to a more practical spot. What changes to the plan are you making? Do you have a blog? They are from PD, we added them the same time we decided to have PD supply all our fly screens. We also found that the colour consultant may not always have same test/thinking of colours as you want - We have changed quite a bit of things will post through here or separate topic (though havent started like your way - my wife is very impressed with yours and very much inspired to do the same.) We are through with our appointments and looking to send the final confirmation soon today about later changes we wish to go ahead with. Will post some more details about it in couple of days. Thanks, Always happy to help! Another thing I forgot to mention before was doors, we added doors to our ensuite in the master bedroom and between the ensuite and WIR. I'm so glad we did, it means I can stay asleep an extra 10 minutes in the morning with my other half potters about in the bathroom Oh and I wish we had of put a door between the end of the kitchen and the rumpus room/bedroom. I would do that if I had my time again. We have a half dozen things to bring up at our 3 month inspection (which is on the 7th) but none of them are major so we're pretty happy. Some of the smaller blocks have almost no yard at all. We aren't going to build very wide (aside from the garage sticking out a bit) so will have a reasonable amount of side yard. The open layout looks nice, but isn't as practical as it could be. HD Re: Electrial and Colour Selection... 238Feb 10, 2016 3:16 pm cattycatcat Today we had both our electrical and colour appointments at Hopetoun Interiors in Port Melbourne. Electrical Appointment Our first appointment was our electrical appointment in which we picked we picked where all our lights, power points, internet connection, phone line etc. We ended up adding more lights, down lights, double power points, outdoor power points and extra data point throughout the house. We also added Pre wiring for a 7.1 surround sound system as well as 2 outdoor speakers which will be linked in to our sound system. All up we ended up only going over our electrical budget by about $500 so we were very happy with the results. Colour Selection We have already been to have a look at all the colour options we had so when it came time to sit down with our colour consultant we were pretty much ready to choose everything we wanted. These are the selections we made: Kitchen/Interior: Walls: Flokati Bench Top: Ceaser Stone - Osprey Bottom Cabinets: Burnished Wood Overhead Cabinets: Polar White Internal Doors: Oriental White (Gloss) Splash Back: Dulux Align Carpet: Chester - Rainy winter (I Forgot to take a photo but it's a dark grey carpet) Interior Door Handles: Velocity Glide - Chrome Outdoor: Brick: Homestead Red Gum Morter Joint: Rolled Joints - Standard colour Infill Above G/Door, Render: Colourbond Woodland Grey Garage: Woodland Grey Fascias, Gutters, Downpipes: Colourbond Monument Windows: Black Roof Tiles: Ebony Front Door: Panelmasta Caprice Colour Woodland Grey Glass Infill in the Front Door: Rice Paper Windows Either Side of Front Door: Rice Paper Bathroom/Ensuite: Bench Top: Ceaser Stone Zulu Cabinets: Natural White Sink: Valentino Laundry: Bench Top: Laminex - WHite Valencia Cabinet: Burnished Wood So that's about all the photos I have, we also upgraded the toilets but didn't really think that I needed to take a photo! hoping your still an active member!!! out of curiosity did you upgrade the render to a little more of the facade? we are currently building with PD and wanted to see exactly where they render, as we want to have the entire front done, and are getting quotes before our selections so we know if they are going to charge a fourtune Hi, My home construction is complete, and the handover is scheduled next week.
