The little things they've got wrong are minor, and your SS is onto it, which is great! Drysdale 30 by Porter Davis - Bricks & Plaster 143Feb 09, 2012 6:52 am Thanks for checking it out guys! So far we have only had very minor issues and can't complain as our SS has been fantastic... Although I still haven't met him! Lol. I will be going with the same facade, I think it's the best out of their selection. I wil be reading through this post to see your journey and maybe get some tips of what to avoid... Re: Drysdale 30 by Porter Davis - Bricks & Plaster 150Feb 09, 2012 1:51 pm Good stuff catty your imposing-looking castle (surely thre are three storeys hiding behind that facade) is looking good... It's a shame they stuffed up on the architraves and island bench veneer but at least it wasn't something major/time consuming... It's still a red-hot race between our builds - we pulled ahead a bit over the break by dint of the brickies and plasterer working into the break but you've almost caught up again with the plastering and bricking being done simultaneously. We've had our painting finished and are having the cabinetry put in while the tilers are also starting - they're apparently following the cabinetmaker around and doing the floor tiling and any waterproofing that is necessary in non-traffic areas. Bathroom and ensuite have been done so far - laundry and kitchen/living area need a bit of a clean as well as the cabinetmaker having done his thing in the kitchen and laundry and moved on before they can do the rest, then they start on the walls and hobs in the wet areas. I reckon (fingers crossed) that there's a good chance we might both be in some time between the end of april and mid-May (or at least I'm hoping that's the case). Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Calling it a Journey is right! I just had a look at the Drysdale 28 to compare it to the 30.. There's almost no difference! We really liked this facade because it looks so good from the street and we checked out all 4 of the display homes and this was the facade that looked the best to us. Our SS also gave us an estimated completion date of 2nd of April so fingers crossed! Sent from my iPhone so please excuse my spelling mist cakes Wow April 2nd really? We asked our SS but I think it's Big-M policy to stay mum when it comes to completion dates. Still by the end of next week the tiling and cabinetry should all be done, so there are just fit-offs, concreting of the driveway/alfresco, installation of the HWS and the detailing of the house left after that. The free rainwater tank will also have to be installed as well before we can move in I guess as it is hooked up to our washing machine taps and the toilets... Not sure we'll get all that done in 6 weeks though so if that April 2nd deadline you were given is realistic then you'll be in well before us. We'll see how it all goes - hope your estimate is close enough to the actual one so you can get in around Easter... Re: Drysdale 30 by Porter Davis - Bricks & Plaster 156Feb 12, 2012 10:32 pm gosh ccc, i hope we are right with you on the 2 april date, is it much shorter than your contract? we are just at lock up, with plaster and cornices up so not much left to do now. But SS not happy to estimate and DH keeps telling me late april!! so busy, thrilled to keep following your progress. btw did you go with any independent inspections?
