Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 07, 2011 11:59 am When our site was being prepared for paving this week the chaps came across the sewer trench which hadn't been compacted properly and there was a 400mm hole/dip along the length of the trench across the driveway and front garden. They hired a leg rammer and 1-1/2 tonnes of rubble was compacted in the hole to ensure it didn't sink in future. We got an invoice for the hire cost and 4 hours labour to fill the hole. Our ind inspector says it's the builder's responsibility but they say it is ours. Has anyone else come across this type of thing?
