Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Baldivis Build: developer is useless! 641Aug 15, 2012 9:08 pm What a day!!! 8:30 the bench guy came to replace the bench. He tried to get another bubble out of another bench but couldn't so now that needs to be replaced. but of course that requires an electrician and plumber due to the location of the bench. I asked him about our join as it is quite dark and he said when he replaces the other part of the bench he will fill it in better. We got to keep the bench so we will use that as a work bench and also cut it and use some as a work station for the lap top in the kitchen. At 11 the plumber turned up. We had a faulty cistern so wasn't a fix, but a replace which the guy didn't have. Will try to get back today...but then when i said i worked thursday/friday and what time i left, he said he will be back today. 2 others returned, discovered that not only did it not work, but it was also blocked. We now have a toilet which flushes beautifully! Also had the bath doctor get the scratches out of the bath. yay! a new bath! Also had the pavers delivered. He didn't want to drive his heavy bobcat onto our pavers so he said he would put htem on the sand (where our lawn will one day be)...since the landscaper hasn't got back to me about when it will be started, figured that is fine. About an hour later, the landscaper knocked on the door...kerbing being done tomorrow, move the paversl AAARGH! hubby doesn't get home until 6 and we have 4 packs of pavers!!! Spoke on phone to head guy and he said we have the weekend to do it, as the sand needs to be removed from where they dug up for the pathway...of course he doesn't include that in the costs so we will have to cover that! So i will be sending ANOTHER email to the developer asking for reimbursement! And then I noticed a fence panel pushed over...on the side where construction is happening. The fence was perfect at 10am...by 12 it was over....must have been a gust of wind i didn't notice!!! Started sanding the letterbox but need a coarser sandpaper. Weekend job! Also bought some dianellas from Masters and i have decided on Dragon Trees...i am going to be able to fit 2 in for my feature. Now to look on gumtree for some. The landscaper said they will be fine (how much do i trust my landscaper???)...and then I checked with my mum who is a great gardener...and she said they will be good there. So lots sorted out today! Going to be going up to Landsdale on the weekend to finish buying what we need! Hopefully end of next week or the week later we will have a beautiful front garden! Re: Baldivis Build: developer is useless! 642Aug 15, 2012 9:49 pm Wow Vans, you're a busy bee - you make me feel like a lazy cow! Haha! Sounds like you've everything sorted, I'm glad you got the bath scratches fixed. And awesome decision for the dragon trees! Can't wait to see pics! Re: Baldivis Build: developer is useless! 644Aug 19, 2012 9:17 pm No, only in the laundry. We will have timber skirtings later. But no rush as we dont see them as essential. I can see two years time we might get round to it! Bought a gorgeous dragon tree today as my feature tree in my planter. Love it! Also got two pots for my coffee plants...just have to put retic in and plant Done one waterproof sealant coat in planters and one coat of white cliffs on letterbox and one planter. Another one to go and also middle planter needs two coats of carabou. It is getting there! Kerbing starts this week! No trunk yet but still near 1 metre tall. Was on Gumtree from a kid who has started his own little business (kid is probably close to 17!). He grows them from seedlings, mine was 3-4 years old. $35! Seeds are from his grandparents established trees. excellent condition! Was up whoop whoop for us, in mindarie. Just search gumtree for dragon tree mindarie...they have pics showing different sizes and photos are true to life! Will put a pic up later in week. Re: Baldivis Build: developer is useless! 647Aug 19, 2012 9:53 pm Same size in masters but only a single wad $79.95. And nowhere near as good quality! Hard to see the colour of the roof but it's looking lovely! The garden was definately worth all the hard work and only a little bit more painting to do! I wish we could paint it properly! Damn rain! But new lawn i am sure is loving it! Hubby is slowly painting internal walls. Front part of house done, hallway done, just living, kitchen and dining. Jealous of people who get all painting done before they move in! Hubby did his fair share on sunday whilst i was running the city to surf. I know painting would have been more enjoyable! Still waiting for rear paving to be done. Getting frustrated. Might be getting new quotes soon. Sick of sand!
