Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 06, 2011 3:34 pm Hi, We are at colour selection time (and I'm quietly freaking out). Could you please share which colour you picked for your internal walls? Name, brand and the type of colour it is. And if you're now living with it, are you happy that you picked it? Thank you!! Our ceiling and doors/ trims are 'black white', which is another resene colour good luck Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 3Sep 06, 2011 4:21 pm Dulux Grand Piano Quarter which (imho) completes the vanilla/coffee/chocolate colour scheme throughout. Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 4Sep 06, 2011 4:21 pm we had to pic from Wattyl range. I picked "new pale cream' which was in the display house. It's very neutral. If I really thought about it more I might have done a feature wall or two but it's okay as I can add colour with furniture or art Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 5Sep 06, 2011 4:29 pm Wall colour throughout: Dulux Russian Toffee Theatre Room: Dulux Mocha Magic (wish we had this in our bedroom, quite dark and sophisticated) Doors, Frames & Trims: Dulux Lexicon Quarter Ceilings: WA White The colours were chosen by our interior designer and have come together beautifully. Neither my wife or myself go for the cold greys and the colours chosen are nice and warm while staying very contempory. Goes very well with the floor boards. Its a slight off-white but not too creamy or yellow because we plan to do the main living areas in grey tones. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All new built homes look like display homes... until the furniture goes in. Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 7Sep 06, 2011 4:45 pm we picked solver pelt, i like darker colours our previous house was dulux warm neutral, i loved living with it, also a little darker (im not a white person) Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 8Sep 06, 2011 4:46 pm The wall colour we chose throughout the house is Dulux Antique White and Dulux Natural white for ceiling and trims..... and we love it!!
We'll most probably have a few feature walls around the house! Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 9Sep 06, 2011 5:04 pm We had to have one colour thruout in Wattyl - we chose Luxurious. Ceiling white. Trims are 1/2 strength Luxurious. Wattyl sample cards show the reflective value of the colour in the info on the back - we wanted highly reflective. We can always paint over it for a feature or a full room. We're very happy with it. Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 10Sep 06, 2011 5:08 pm We have Dulux Antique White for walls and doors, skirtings and White for Ceilings and Architraves we are very happy with it. We have 3 feature walls throughout the house, bedroom, living and family, Dulux Sheer Passion. I like to keep the same color flowing throughout, we have done that at all of our past homes also. Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 11Sep 06, 2011 5:59 pm I had to select from the Wattyl paints. I ended up going for classic white for ceilings, skirtings etc and Flokati for the walls. Saw a pic of a house in a magazine with same wall color and loved it. Love it.. it's a slight pale tan/ grey.. but more on the warmer side Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 13Sep 06, 2011 6:53 pm Dulux Lexicon - we went Lexicon half for the ceilings and trims. I love it, it's a clean white - not yellow or creamy - kind of has a grey tinge depending on the time of day - which works well with our Black, White and Grey scheme through out Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 14Sep 06, 2011 8:24 pm We went Dulux Lexicon half white for everything painted. We will do feature walls ourselves after hand over. Igloo for main living areas, and main bedroom and ensuite flokati for minor bedrooms, kids playroom, main bathroom . loo, laundry etc Doors and door frames internally are wattyl chalk which I wasn't that excited about. Ceiling is ceiling white.( shrug) Re: What colour paint did you choose for your internal walls 16Sep 06, 2011 9:41 pm We're using Solver "Bakers Own" which is quite new to their range. It's a lovely warm beige colour which goes perfectly with our hardwood flooring & chocolate/brown tones we have chosen throughout the house. I love it, not sick of it at all after nearly two years. I like a bit of depth to the walls but didn't want a beige or cream so this is perfect for us. We have a lot of black furniture and it works really well with that. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7417 Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5546 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 8088 |
