Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 30, 2011 11:51 am Hi Guys. We have found some land that is wedge shaped (or fan shaped). Its 38m and 34m on the side with frontage of just over 50m. Total area is 814sqm. Anybody built on these kind of blocks before? We would like to build a 4/5 bedroom double storey house. I have had a look at most of the project home sites but their designs are to long and not wide enough to suit the block. I think something with 20m frontage and maybe 12-15m width would sit nicely and leave enough of a backyard. Anyone care to share some designs or point me in the right direction? Check your local home display - best way to source builders close to your area. Some things are worth waiting for. SC has since signed with Zen, so I am sure you can pm him for any details. Re: Building on a wedge or fan shaped block..design ideas 5Aug 30, 2011 2:34 pm Also have a look at huxley, they have a nice design and is currently being built at the new homeworld. Just one more comment remember with a 50m frontage and a 6m setback you are losing 300m of land in the front setback, just something to think about Re: Building on a wedge or fan shaped block..design ideas 6Sep 01, 2011 11:28 am so council (baulkham hills) say the street had a 10m setback...developer says it will be 7.5m once land is registered....either way theres an awful lot of land being wasted out front...minimum 375m2. That leaves only 439m2 of wedge shaped land. It would be very difficult to get 5/3/3 house on there...looks like we have to leave this on alone. dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 7487 My home office is hot with computer equipment running virtually 18 hours a day.
