Funny I was there on the weekend taking photos of every wall before the plaster went up (so we know where pipes, studs etc are) lucky as it's pretty much all covered now. Not sure they're that exciting to post though Will get in at some point this week, probably better do it before the Easter break as they'll probably lock us out well and truly. Re: JLD's Cayman by PD - Plaster! 207Apr 02, 2012 9:48 pm Yeah lock up is no fun! We have a window we leave unlocked but they always find it. lol Forrestdale 27 Land Titled:4/11/11 Building Permit:4/11/11 Site Start Date: 16/11/11 Slab Date: 01/12/11 Frame Date:05/12/11 http://hordefamilyhome.blogspot.com/ Re: JLD's Cayman by PD -Scaffolding down! Hi JLD, I’m so pleased to hear how happy you are with your build transforming into your new home. I agree with you, that once the plaster is up and home is divided off you can really start to visualise the interior and layout. I look forward to having a look at your pics when they are up. I know it's a bit weird when you can't go into your own house but it's not that our SS isn't happy for us to be there we just don't have a key. He will meet us there though if we ask. We have staircase in (different to what we ordered though so trying to get an answer about solution), all doors, skirtings and architraves, kitchen & bathroom cabinets. Painter due to start in next week or so. We're away for next two weeks so will be fun to see what's happened when we get back. Will go and check out your thread now. Re: JLD's Cayman by PD - Plaster! 214Apr 19, 2012 7:53 pm Thanks very much serenitynow Still a bit to happen to it....render of the front portico, painting of balcony posts, front door and garage door. We're really happy with it though. Re: JLD's Cayman by PD - Plaster! 215Jun 06, 2012 3:52 pm Ok so I have been very slack posting updates on the house, alot to do with not getting inside access and the rest to do with not taking pictures when I've been there! Went in today and all excited about my tiles so took a couple of quick photos. Will get some more next week when I have complete access without feeling like a stalker taking photos with the tradies there! So where are we at? We're currently being tiled, painters have been but still need to come back for a final coat and to stain stairs and do some more of the outside paintwork. Electrician's been in and done most of the fit off so the tilers didn't tile over there floor markings. Argus still haven't been to fit off any of the home theatre, cabling or security but that will all happen later. Plumbing fitoff due in next week and SS says we'll be handing over in July so anticipate PCI end of June. Really really happy with the tiles, I always like things to be a little bit different so was a bit nervous about the bathroom floor tiles but I absolutely love them so I'm glad I went with my gut. I'm also in love with my floor tile but didn't get a picture for you guys so you'll have to wait a bit on that one. We've done the 3 bathrooms the same with powder room to be the same as the main floor tile. Fingers crossed not too exxy! Will try and not leave it as long to update next time Re: JLD's Cayman by PD -been a long time! Tile pics 216Jun 07, 2012 11:53 am Hi JLD, Thanks for sharing your update, I’m pleased to hear you are loving your tiles, seems like progress is going well and I’m sure your PCI in July will come around very quickly – looking forward to seeing your next update. Tile pics 217Jun 08, 2012 11:04 pm Try complaining to PD, if they need sealing it should be included! Might be worth checking with National Tiles too incase he is doing a shifty. That's not the Elementi tile is it? The Elementi is your main tile right? Great update and your house is looking fantastic. Re: JLD's Cayman by PD -been a long time! Tile pics 218Jun 09, 2012 12:38 am Not sure sealing is included though Rups? National Tiles told us that that the splashback would need sealing and both he and the SS were surprised that we weren't told about the shower/hob tile. You could see that it was getting marks just from him touching them. Definitely not the Elementi which is our main tile although we are getting the grout sealed on those and the bathroom floor tile. You guys must be getting excited now? Have they agreed to fix all the issues raised? Re: JLD's Cayman by PD -been a long time! Tile pics 219Jun 14, 2012 11:09 am Looks fantastic and love your tiles! We have accent tiles in the ensutie shower and behind the bathroom sinks and we bought sealer at Bunnings and sprayed it on ourselves. I think the bottle was maybe $20. Tile pics 220Jun 14, 2012 9:25 pm Thanks SJ! We were going to do the splashback sealing ourselves but the grout sealing is such a big job as we have over 100sqm of tiles so we've decided to pay. Oh and the tiler was acid cleaning the tiles on the walls in the shower and hobs before he sealed so I think it's worth the spend. You guys must be loving being in your place, it looks fantastic.
