Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 27, 2011 10:31 pm Just had house finished (Perth) and I want to build a brick wall along front boundary with piers. The Western Power green dome is so close to the front corner of the boundary (centre is 0.5m off front and side, leaving about 0.3m clearance to boundary) I can't see how I can fit a brick pier in, especially with the required footings and Western Power requiring 0.25m clearance from boundary fences. Anyone have any experience here and have any suggestions? Much appreciated. Re: Building near power dome 2Aug 28, 2011 12:12 am http://www.westernpower.com.au/document ... Manual.pdf Have a look here Mae. Page 214, you technically need a 500mm exclusion zone around the pillar so electrical workers can access it safely. I have seen dozens which don't comply, but it is best to. You might have to to have the wall dogleg around the inside of it, making a little recess for it so it is out on the street. Re: Building near power dome 4Aug 30, 2011 12:30 am Have you looked into getting the power dome relocated by Western Power? It will cost a bit, but if there is somewhere different that you could move it to it could end up easier/cheaper/better looking than stepping the fence around it in its current location? Our standard double-glazed window is tested to achieve, Rw 34, and can be glazed to suit Rw 39. The price is good too... 3 9431 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors. Thanks 1 13244 2 15443 |
