Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 29, 2008 12:09 pm I'm currently building and it's a strange plan where my living areas are above someone elses garage.
Lower Level Plan http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/n ... erPlan.jpg Upper Level Plan http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/n ... erPlan.jpg I asked the builder whether I will be paying for the persons electric use in the garage, they have said no but I don't believe them. Does anyone know how I could find out? Should there be a meter box in the garage if it's not connected to me? I think from memory of my electrical layout I have a subboard does that mean anything? Re: Electrical Issue 2Jan 29, 2008 8:45 pm I think the one way to find that out is, to check the wiring before the gyprocks are on -- if you know how to check/trace the cables. Otherwise get an electrician to check it for you.
Or if the walls are already on, turn off the main power for your house, and check if you can still turn on the lights in that garage... Re: Electrical Issue 3Jan 29, 2008 9:02 pm You may have a sub-board but if you look at the main meter box - the one the supply company reads there should be two meters inside. This meter box is normally located on the side of the house near the road and should be accessable. : MadChook thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16227 2 5908 |
