Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-LOCKED UP!!! 202Feb 24, 2012 4:18 pm i dont know if i could do that! id feel bad Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-LOCKED UP!!! 203Feb 24, 2012 5:10 pm forget the guilt..this is life and death. something may have happened, we need photographic evidence! Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 204Apr 07, 2012 6:40 pm Im back!!! I am so sorry it has been so long! I hadnt received any notifications and along with the everything being so hectic (house moving/family/work/ lack of internet) I forgot to update. Kiwi and Wildorchid you make me laugh! I would have freaked out if you walked around the back with a camera...but it is really nice to know you all wanted to know how things have been going. All is okay and the move has gone quite smoothly....after hearing the horror stories I think we were quite okay. We moved in in my last week of work before school holidays which was busy but fantastic considering the proposed date for handover was late Feb! We havnt done much to the outside of the house (money factor :S) but are ready to submit our quotes to our bank...fingers crossed people!!! We are getting bluestone to retain our front, entire side of the house, and backyard and I REALLY cant wait!!!! I am sick of mud and dirt! Once that is done we will get the driveway...and aircon! Those first weeks if the house were hell!!! No cooling at all Im not going through that again. As for the inside...We have carpeted and had floating floors installed to the main areas of the house. The house is huge for the both of us so later this year we will get the rest of it done We have started to get some curtains up...I am sick of our $4 blue tarp....But I must admit it has been better than newspaper! One big problem we have had is with our gutters! My brother in law went to install our gutter guard and noticed that our gutters were not meeting the Australian Standards (minimum of 50mm). Ours were as narrow as 20-25mm!!! We contacted our fantastic Customer Service rep who put us onto Maintenance. Maintenance organised for Boral to inspect it. After ages....he came back saying all was fine!!! WHAT???? So we took photos of the gutters with a tape measure to show the defect and submitted the photos along with our 3 Month maintenance list (which is a tad bit long :S oh with a tap that is hot when should be cold and cold when should be hot!) . Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ No reply for ages. Finally I had a call to say that the guy from Boral should have called us (same guy who did the inspection) and hadnt and he will call soon. Later that day I got a phone call! He says we can organise a day where he will come out, clean our gutters, push the tiles up, get my brother in law to install the gutter guard and then he will come back to see if all is okay. My brother in law says that there isnt a guarantee that the roof wont still be defected after the gutter guard is put on. There may even be a gap and then what?? If it rains we will be stuffed!! All this has been going on right up until Wed last week. Talk about crappy! But at least they are taking us seriously now! Now for some pix.....only a few to start with but I will make an effort to keep up with it! Weird about the gutters, they do look narrow It does take time to get established in a new home; I hope to live in the rental an extra month or so, to finish things before we move in - but think I may be a bit impatient to move in after all this time https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 207Apr 10, 2012 1:30 pm wow, the kitchen looks great! DCT, dont wait too long to move in, i would worry about the safety of a lovely new empty home! ours had an attempted break in the day before handover, i was paranoid for ages after that! (until our dogs moved in) Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 208Apr 11, 2012 10:16 am Looking good ... love the splashes of red ... If you sdidnt get gutter guard you would never have known!! Love your kitchen!!! Looks gorgeous! Dont be shy about posting more pics Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 210Apr 17, 2012 11:31 pm NessaB! How are you? Thank you I am loving the house...We still have so much to do but it is so rewarding when we finish something. I will definitely post more pics. Watch this space hehe As for the gutters....very annoying! Simply they need to fix it but BORAL are stalling. I have heard so many excuses from them but simple fact is its defected and they have to fix it. I hope something is done before the wet season though :S Wildorchid thank you! I agree with moving in straight away. After hearing all the stories of suspicious people and attempted break ins we were in day of handover....not that comfy on cement and a blow up mattress but still loved it hehe I know someone up in the new part (Ascot Circuit) and within the first 3 days of her moving in they were cleaned out! Keep your eyes open...we still do DCT you will be so excited to move in Thank you Kiwi! Ill keep you updated with what we are doing Photos and all! Mclaren thank you too. I never thought of having red in the kitchen. it just happened and I loved it!! Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 211Apr 20, 2012 2:27 pm i heard about that break in....i think i heard (if its the same one) it was the night of a bucks party, when the guys went out after. i just hate robbers!! Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 212Apr 20, 2012 2:28 pm oh, and your curtains look lovely from the front, makes such a difference Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 213Apr 22, 2012 10:22 pm hi again I am looking forward to moving in...starting to get a bit impatient and the slabs not even down yet! The house won't be left alone when it is finished; my boys (should say men ) will love to have the run of the house for a while but I don't want to move too much furniture in until the 'extra' stuff is done. Our rental is only a couple of minutes away so I will be there during the day. Builder's interview on Thursday, staying in the city Wednesday night woo hoo https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;)-It has been a while...sorry! 214Apr 25, 2012 5:40 pm Thank you Wildorchid! I am so proud of the curtains and your compliment meant a lot. It looks a lot better than the blue tarp lol dct thats good to hear that the house wont be left alone. You must be so excited!!! Seriously keep all eyes open. Today I was leaving to go to a funeral and a lady and man walked past as I was getting in the car and the man picked up something from the neighbours yard...I couldnt quite tell what it was...an old hand trowel? and slipped it into his pocket!
