I have met wonderful supportive people on here! I hope you feel better soon O1K I cant wait to hear more about your house! Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 103Oct 08, 2011 8:09 pm Same:) I hear you, actually went to the house today with our dogs and peered through our windows. Felt just like going well.. since i'm here.. can't I just move in now?! It's wierd it's my home but I felt like I wasn't.. infact I felt like I was a stalker trying to stalk someone inside the house LOL but it felt better that my husband was there!! LOL!! I cannot wait to move into my new home.. they say that Patience is a Virtue! http://heartmyhome.blogspot.com Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 104Oct 09, 2011 7:06 am you will feel like that when you move in, that it isnt yours and you shouldnt be there cos the owners will be back any minute! Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 105Oct 09, 2011 9:37 am lol very true! Took us a few weeks for i all to sink in that we were allowed to be here!! After peering through windows for so long being on the inside is really weird!! Yay they are moving along fast! Its like looking at my photos 4 months ago! Except our linen cupboard opens in the laundry not near the bathroom and toilet Make sure you poke your fingers through the holes to make sure your insulation is there. They missed the insulation around our wet areas and we only worked it out when poking throught the electrical holes. Render wont be far off now Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 106Oct 09, 2011 11:40 am Good Sunday morning to you all I know what you mean when you say that it doesnt feel like your own house! I still feel like the owners or landlord will show up telling us off for looking through. I need to ask a silly question. In terms o insulation in the wet areas, is it meant to be in the interior walls between the bathrooms and the other rooms? Ness I look at your photos and it looks identical minus the few differences! I can't believe this was your house only 4 months ago! Wow! I wanted to ask you too...I noticed in the pic of your main bathroom you have insulation under the bath again the bricks..we don't :s. Also in your garage roof/ceiling you have insulation ..we don't :s. Do you think I should question it?? Today we are going to shops looking at furniture, fridges, lighting etc for my verrrry long wish list hehe I'll post pics asap Take care Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 107Oct 09, 2011 12:59 pm your garage will be hot/ freezin without it, wont it?? Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 109Oct 09, 2011 9:55 pm So here are the photos of no insulation...I sent an email to my customer Service Rep and I will call if I dont hear back :S Garage ceiling. (dont like the lack of insulation though. it might only be contracted for the house and not garage, if it is, get some rolls from bunnings and get up there and put some in, cos your garage will be like an oven and your car likewise.) and use what is left for the bath cos that will stay warmer when filled. otherwise you will have to keep taking some water out and re filling with hot every 10 mins! Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 112Oct 10, 2011 12:51 pm it shows on the plans where you are supposed to have insulation. we had to have lots due to the 6 star rating. we have it in all the bathroom walls and the garage to help with heating/cooling. check out your plans. it shows as zig zag lines on the wet area walls. love the fridges! lol and like Kiwi said the insulation around the bath is really important. My bath is awsomely hot for the longest time if it isnt included on your plans do it yourself! probably alot cheaper than paying them too. Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 113Oct 10, 2011 1:31 pm looking great.....coming along nicely! where are the first 2 lamps from? i like them Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 115Oct 10, 2011 2:03 pm All your dream shopping looks fantastic!! It's getting exciting for you now! Yes, check your plan and contract regarding insulation. Even though our builder didn't do our insulation in our ceiling, it was still specified to be a certain rating in main house and carport/alfresco to meet our energy star rating. We did a mix of R5 and R6 to the house, and R1.5 to the outside areas. I keep hoping to catch the tiler at the house before he starts, so I can go and get a bag of insulation and stuff it around the bath. I have heard that it means it stays REALLY hot! Which is why I never have a bath, because I don't like getting cold! Cassie 28/7/11 - Slabbed 15/8/11 - Framed 19/9/11 - LOCKED UP! 6/10/11 - Kitchen in! 11/11/11 - It's all OURS! I spoke to my customer service rep and he says that it isn't standard to have insulation in the ceiling of the garage but I'll check my plans again. I questioned my bath insulation and he said that it will almost be like it is double bricked even without insulation. However, I think I may get some of the offcuts and shove them under the bath. I had the BEST news from him today. He said that we should be in by Christmas!!!!!!!!! He will speak to our SS tomorrow and we may have a date!!! He said at the rate it is going it would be stupid to wait to February. We are over the moon!!!!!! *insert happy dance here* Re: Our Piazza Dream Home ;) 117Oct 10, 2011 4:51 pm Oh Hooray!! Yes, I can't imagine what they would be doing to make it drag out until February considering all the progress you have made so far!!!
