Which is how my prestart changes added up to a scary number very quickly! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 24Dec 13, 2011 4:26 pm YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA all my pre-start variations done and signed off on ( after one month ) , my pre-start contracter was so patient with us. I kept going back with 101 variations after pre-start .. and she was always so helpful. There are a few items in there thats bugging me ... but i have decided to give in on those things ( I AM TIRED of thinking and chooosing and deciding ) .... I JUST WANT TO START BUILDING !! My finance is all done with and they are waiting for council approved plans to go unconditional. The council is holding us up at the moment ... and with the christmas break coming up I think my plans will onyl get looked at in the New years !! Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 26Feb 01, 2012 12:30 pm OK ... so I got my council approval BUT changed my mind about a few other dozen things *sigh* . Biggest change was the sliders into 32c commercial stackers without a coloumn ... that cost us 18 grand *sob* and they are not even bifolds !! So after 6 variations we finally signed the final contract ... but i am still undecided about my sink ... CS benchtop colour ... is this normal ... ??? I feel a bit mental ... Maybe i should wait for a few months .. i am sure i will want ot change a few other things and I can do it all at one go !! Now begins the waiting game ... So how long does it take for builders to get on-site after signing the final contract ? Building my Sanctuary with Peter Stannard 27Feb 29, 2012 3:40 pm Drove past land yesterday and guess what I saw All the site works were complete and the footing/plumbing done Now the slab ............ cant wait !!! Feeelll so relieved its finally started .... FINALLLYYY!! Peter Stannard have been really good with everything so far ... only exception was pricing on a few things which i felt was blown out too much... i did my investigation and its not 30-40% mark-up .. its almost 100%-120% mark-up.... !!! Has anyone felt this way about some pricing and done something about it? Will post slab pictures hopefully soon ... Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 28Mar 09, 2012 9:44 pm Hi Amri I think you and I are twins! I have been so certain about some decisions only to change my mind a week later. I feel guilty each and every time I email my pre start lady (who is always sooo lovely about it) with my latest "final" changes. I do feel like that each time I make a change though I am getting closer to perfection so I still do it:) Love you house, think it will look awesome! Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 29Apr 16, 2012 7:03 pm Hi Amri I've just started following your blog, mainly cause we are planning to build with Peter Stannard as well. It's a new display called the View. I love your design, it looks great! We are very early in, just 1 meeting so far but we're excited so far. PCI/Handover 30Oct 16, 2012 12:24 pm Hi Everyone, I had PC/handover 2 weeks ago and it went really well. There are still some items pending but it should all be completed soon hopefully!! The major item is the kitchen cabinet handles is wrong so they have to switch ALL the cupboard fronts ( WHAT A WASTE ) I would love to hear from everyone what you think of my kitchen and if I need to switch it in the first place. I have to say Peter stannard were a pleasure to deal with , ofcourse there were small hitches but i am sure thats part and parcel ! We were keen to get handover early since we have so much more to do in the house before we actually move in, major ones being the electrical , flooring and the pool. The electricals is almost done and the flooring guy has started this week so its coming along. Since I have two lil brats I am a bit nervous about moving in before the pool is more secure and we have some part of teh house ( either the front or back ) finished. I love the white in the kitchen the only thing i would of done differently is have a full window splashback in the kitchen other then that the white white is refreshing... Who are you guys going through to make your concrete pool?? that is another thing we have to organize also Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 36Oct 16, 2012 1:27 pm Your house looks gorgeous looking forward to pool pics!! With your kitchen handles...if it were me i'd keep them just because i find it difficult opening such big drawers which will become heavy with the little ones at the top...i'd be scared of pulling a nail off!! Especially if there is a bit of resistance when you open them as well. personal choice but my vote would be keep! Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 37Oct 16, 2012 1:43 pm thanks xxkatxx , am leaning that way too, might try to get a deal in with the cabinet makers for some other cupboards instead ?? ?? He said it cost them 2000$ to rip out ALL of teh cupboard fronts including pantry EVERYTHING and I PAID 2000$ to upgrade from matt to gloss ... Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 38Oct 17, 2012 2:05 pm Love everything, lot's of $$$ spent there. I prefer the handles you have on there. Breaks up the white nicely. Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 39Oct 17, 2012 3:20 pm I vote to keep the handles too, they look beautiful with the white drawers! Your kitchen is amazing!! Maybe you could break up the white a little with the flooring..depending on what you're putting down, a nice contrasting colour would work well Kayla Re: First time Builder in Perth :) 40Oct 18, 2012 1:24 pm hey Amri - really awesome! Thanks for posting all the pics. So many highlights in this house - your ensuite looks amazing, I love the glass sliding doors, your house will be light and bright. What a fantastic fireplace too. So exciting! Wish i had place for a pool, my block is only 500sqm, it will be a great feature. Enjoy!!! Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8936 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
