Wondering if the builder will say it has nothing to do with them Thx!waiting for reply!Hope anyone can help!! 3rd property but 1st home March 19,2010 signed contract Re: SOS!!Soil's sinking!!! 2Aug 15, 2011 11:58 pm I think you'll find that when site works first started, your builder would have laid some fill down. The "sinking" is just the fill (dirt/sand/rock - etc) compacting naturally over time. When you go to do footpaths the contracter will compact and fill to make it level before laying any concrete or pavers. Re: SOS!!Soil's sinking!!! 3Aug 16, 2011 9:34 am 1stBuildFR ... Hi,thx for the reply! someone said they should have compacted the soil not waiting for the footpaths stage to do that coz the soil keeps sinking................... Just wondering if builder is responsible for compacting it 3rd property but 1st home March 19,2010 signed contract Re: SOS!!Soil's sinking!!! 5Aug 16, 2011 10:27 am Lex 1stBuildFR ... How about you, in which area is this sinking (eg. cut or fill?) - maybe you can put some pics too? Where is this corner exactly and what's the soil type and slab type? Do you have a dropped edge beam in this section perhaps? Many Qs, not nearly enough info you gave us so far, so all we can do is keep guessing. orangepool ::angry:: Has anyone met this before??the soil around one of our house cornor is sinking now!!seems quite fast........already see part of the slab!!!can't believe it............ the problem is we didn't ask the builder to finish the concrete around the house and driveway. Wondering if the builder will say it has nothing to do with them BTW, the builder would have driven over the building platform - which would normally include an extra 1m (minimum) all around the perimeter of the building platform. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13098 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37143 |
