Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 15, 2011 12:22 am Hi there, hoping someone might have some suggestions. The things we want to change since this plan was drawn up is to push the garage forward to put in a storage/mudroom at the rear of garage possibly with a window to the left. Also we want to have a bigger Alfresco out the back and also push the alfresco wall where the stacker doors are to be in line with the right hand side wall of bedroom one (the wall with the bed 1 door). We'll possibly put in some stacker doors from bed 1 to alfresco too. Any other ideas to better this plan? Maybe a 2 way bathroom for bed 2 and 3? Thanks! Will be very handy and a good use of space. you dont have a lot of storage, so a mud room would be good I would be worried that study would be a dark hole as only 1 little window, do you really need a wall that long? makes the entrance hall a dark skinny cave I wouldnt have a 2 way bathroom, too many doors to then lock and also take up space I think it is fine the way it is...but you do need storage in a 4 bed home...just one more cupboard for coats, toys, whatever...I might have a play if that is ok? I would put a cavity slider floor to ceiling where powder room is so you close it off if you want we have one here are some pics..LOVE IT floor to ceiling means you cant see any door frame just before the light switch on right..you see the jam, and on left the little pull out pulley thing to close it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ from the other side, while building so a dirty pic!, it goes right over Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ cant hear the kids screaming! Hi thanks for the reply I like some of your ideas .One thing I didn't mention is that the study on the plan is actually going to be a kids retreat so we wanted to have a wall there for tv ,toys etc ,so we want to close it off . I like your cavity slider, mud room etc ideas probably do them .I understand the dilemma with the room being dark ,maybe a sky light will do the job Re: First post - Need help with house plan please! 5Aug 15, 2011 10:31 am I'd lose the toilet out of the bathroom (seems a bit of overkill with the powder room so close),move the vanity closer to the door, push the bath up to where the shower currently is (move window to match) and then have a full width walk in shower on the wall between bed 3 & bathroom. It is the best thing! We actually enter the house via the store room, bags, shoes etc are left in there rather than the entrance hall. We have an unual block shape, end of a court so we bent the garage around so that it faced the court, this made room for a powder room and the store room in the garage. Here are my plans so you know what I am talking about: http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/rebel_radar/plan-1.jpg And the site plan: http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/rebel_radar/siteplan.jpg Re: First post - Need help with house plan please! 7Aug 15, 2011 11:13 am Deemaree I'd lose the toilet out of the bathroom (seems a bit of overkill with the powder room so close),move the vanity closer to the door, push the bath up to where the shower currently is (move window to match) and then have a full width walk in shower on the wall between bed 3 & bathroom. Hi someone suggested putting some shutters between the study/ kids retreat in the hall way to let more light in. I think if we can make them the right size and shape it could work ok .We did think of your idea in the bathroom,Still might go that way .maybe for resale 3 toilets might be good aswell .thanks for your input ,really enjoying it. Then mirrors on the wall! Deemaree Kyndylan Capers: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=46852 My blog: http://www.sufficientlysufficient.blogspot.com/ 6 55344 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3259 This is a very tight fit, I'm not sure if you'll be able to achieve what you've described. Would you consider accessing the separate toilet from the laundry? If so maybe… 1 11252 |
