Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 13, 2011 12:37 am We are having square downpipes..and along the front of the house we have some square posts at the front of the verandah. We will run the downpipes at the front in front of these. We want the square posts to stand out as a feature with the stainless steel wire balustrades etc along the front of the verandah, and we were going to either paint them in the paint that looks like wood - or cover them in ali wood or similar. Therefore I think that we should do the same to the downpipes at the front ( there are only 2 of these at the front - but more posts right along the front). For the rest of the house we would try to disguise them by paointing them the same colour as the house ( dont know what colour that will be yet - its linea board). Does anyone have any suggestions... has anyone used ali-wood ( or similar) or the wood look a like paint....? downpipes - made to look like wood 2Aug 13, 2011 8:38 am They are currently developing colorbond vinyl overlays that make steel posts look like wooden posts.
