WORLD CONCEPT HOMES Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=44725 Re: Dechellis custom build 46Jan 03, 2012 10:09 pm Well a belated Merry Xmas and New Year to all! I've been MIA for a bit with time off and all that. Progress.... we have full frames up, gutters on, windows in and bricks have begun. I'll try to hunt up some pics for you all. Spoke to the brickie, he says he's been told he has to be finished by the 16th. I haven't been past the block for about a week, just assuming no one has been there since Xmas, so hopefully he's back this week. I did ring and leave a message for the SS though. Some of the feature exposed bricks on the pillars at the front of the house are crooked. If I have to reverse out of that carport everyday and see those wonky bricks I'm not going to be a happy camper Follow our build here https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=50266 Land settled - Nov 2010 Signed contracts - Jan 2011 Council app - May 2011 Site scrape - 24 Nov 2011! Re: Dechellis custom build 47Jan 16, 2012 11:59 am Hey build2012, how is everything going? Did the wonky bricks get fixed up? I hope so!!! How are you finding communication with the SS? Re: Dechellis custom build 48Jan 16, 2012 7:06 pm nope... not yet. I left 3 voice mails for the SS with no response. I rang the office last week and there was a recorded message saying the office was closed until today. So I rang them today and the SS is going to meet me on site tomorrow to have a look at the problem. Hopefully I'll get a little more out of him with regard to expected completion The manager in the office seemed confident they would be rectified. Fingers crossed. No other real news to report, it's been a bit slow because of Xmas. But the brickie seems to have finished and I think the roof is going on this week.....? Looking very nice all up. Not sure what's going on with that "interesting" fence on the long side of the house - kinda reminds me of the back alley (right of way) we used to play cricket in back in the day (I grew up in an inner suburban area when I was a wee lad too).. Not sure what's going on with that "interesting" fence on the long side of the house - kinda reminds me of the back alley (right of way) we used to play cricket in back in the day (I grew up in an inner suburban area when I was a wee lad too).. One - nup, not faking. But sometimes it doesn't feel real and that there's no end in sight. I mean, we bought the land in November 2010! Two - that is so true! Well it is Edwardstown.... it's a very old neighbourhood with a lot of knockdown/renos happening. Looking at the pic, it absolutely looks like that! And I hate it. The very back fence is getting a whole new neighbour-friendly fence.... neighbours don't know yet, but I kinda figured I'm doing it regardless. That awful long ugly one..... well, the man next door is a hermit and won't put anything towards it. We either do the same down the side with the neighbour friendly thingo.... or.... in the back corner I want to do a decking feature, so we either put something like that up and then paint the rest. Our back garden area is 3 metres from the house to the fence, and 18 metres long. Not much to work with. Sorry! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting! I'm looking for a structural solution to a stand alone wooden pickets fence with no structural rail… 1 3290 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 6 55346 |
