Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Dechellis custom build 21Aug 19, 2011 8:40 pm looks great. i love the licorice linea, have you seen it in the silk finish? Re: Dechellis custom build 22Aug 30, 2011 11:19 pm well, that was an absence from here for me!! Hi all. Wildorchid - yes, I saw it in the silk finish when I went to Sampina. I like very much. I've got the licorice linea in my bathroom... but I wasn't sure if I wanted the silk finish on the benchtop, so we went with the standard. We chose the hanging cupboards in the bathrooms (I think that's what they're called - they sit above the ground), and both benchtop and cupboard are the same colour, with a white round sink that sits above bench. I'm not sure now if I should have gone white benches, but I didn't want to pay extra for the thicker bench top. We have to make sure we don't go over budget. Particularly as I'm fairly set on getting a stone benchtop for the kitchen. I had chosen just a laminate top, but I think the stone will finish off the kitchen/family area just that bit nicer. Essa stone have a new product called Bone White. My kitchen cupboards are silk finish in white, and the Bone White stone - it's white with a very slight speckle through it. Have pretty much finished our selections now... just waiting (impatiently) for our final selection appointment date - 20th September. Woooo! Re: Dechellis custom build 23Aug 31, 2011 11:10 am i didnt realise you had the linea on the benchtop too, your right, silk wouldnt go with normal bench. it probably only goes with stone. hope the next 20 days goes quick for you Re: Dechellis custom build 24Sep 04, 2011 10:49 pm Hi, Nice plans Very nice use of space we used cafe latte for our bricks and absolutely LOVE them Also, the white sand as well Re: Dechellis custom build 25Nov 21, 2011 9:50 pm well, I've been away for aaaages.... sorry Had some major hold ups with our bank... not literally of course They were really messing us around with our loan and kept asking for the same information over and over. I decided to put the whole stupid thing out of my head until they finally came up with the goods. And they did.... finally. So after another week of "yep, we're starting", "nope, in 2 days", "nope, next week"...... we FINALLY have lift off! Scrape is booked for this Wednesday, site prep Thursday, dig next Monday and Tuesday, remove fill Tuesday, and slab pour is booked for Monday 6/12. So much for getting it all over with by April. Looking more like May or June at this rate, particularly with Xmas almost upon us :/ Oh well, slow and steady, yeah? Let's hope the builder works faster than the bank Follow our build here https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=50266 Land settled - Nov 2010 Signed contracts - Jan 2011 Council app - May 2011 Site scrape - 24 Nov 2011! Dug the trenches on Friday. Then they were back Saturday with the temporary fencing. I went past the site again today... because now I have to drive past EVERY day (!!).... and the pipes are in and the steel has been delivered. I spoke to the builder today. They are planning to pour the slab this Friday, start frames next Wednesday, and then start bricking the week after that. WOAH! If this keeps up we could be in by April! WORLD CONCEPT HOMES Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=44725 Re: Dechellis custom build 36Dec 06, 2011 10:25 pm so we had our slab poured last Friday and today FH texted me to say "the neighbour says our bricks have been delivered but no timber.... weirdos" LOL so I went past the block on the way home, and sure enough, we have our 'Cafe Latte' bricks sitting next to our slab. The frames are supposed to start tomorrow, so I'm hoping to drive past in the morning to see the carpenters busily marking out all their measurements and hopefully some timber will be delivered! I'm really looking forward to actually being able to see the size of the rooms, rather than just visualising it!!! Re: Dechellis custom build 37Dec 06, 2011 10:44 pm Congratulations on your slab. The first important step is done! We are hopeful to get a slab later this week/early next week. Funny though that they deliver the bricks so early, before the frame has even started. According to our SS we should have our frames up before the Christmas break as well, so although you look to be slightly ahead of us, we might catch up (especially with Christmas holding everything up). So the race is still on. Sorry! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting! I'm looking for a structural solution to a stand alone wooden pickets fence with no structural rail… 1 3295 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34270 6 55349 |
