We've been oversees for the past 3 weeks with no Internet. I meant to say we were leaving but it got a bit hectic in the days leading up to it. When we left, the frame was complete with windows in. Will post pics when we get home on Monday. We're still oversees but back in civilisation at a hotel with Wi Fi. Can't wait to see what's been done while we've been away. Hope you are having a nice time on your holiday! (you are brave to mention you are away on here....just take a peek at baby bacchus' thread to see what I mean! ) I look forward to seeing lots of pics when you get back! Love the pantry. Also really like how from your study you can just walk outside. hubby, kids and me all waiting for the Amberlea Site Cut 27 September 2011 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46637 http://www.dscml.com/ Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 - Frame. 25Dec 05, 2011 7:54 pm Well it's been just over 3 weeks since we last saw our house. Was a little surprised at the lack of brickwork considering we were told they were starting just after we left 3 weeks ago, but overall still very pleased with the progress. Here are the pics! Front door with temp door knob. This is the only brickwork done, the rest is just wrapped. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our ensuite spa. Look at your plaster - you have proper rooms!! Looks great - boo about the lack of bricks tho! And I am a little envious at your progress and maybe my patience has waived just a little. But I think your plan is fabulous. I love the reds you've included in your selections. The walk in pantry was a must for me as well. This forum is great Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 - Plastered. 28Dec 17, 2011 1:48 pm Just went through & the kitchen, bathroom & laundry cabinets are in. The brown is a little lighter than we had thought, but we're still happy with it. Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 - Kitchen Cabinets. 32Dec 22, 2011 11:17 am Went around to the house yesterday and the painters were in. We have however picked up something we overlooked in our colour schedule. The walls are going to be Hog Bristle ½, and we had the internal doors Hog Bristle ¼ - ie, slightly lighter than the walls. The skirtings & architraves are also Hog Bristle ¼. When we upgraded most of the doors (the ones facing any main areas) for some reason the colour has been listed as Hog Bristle full. We didn't notice this is our contract. So when I got there I was surprised to see how dark the internal access door from the garage was. Now I'm not sure whether to just leave them or repaint them. I didn't have my camera with me, so the photo is just from my iPhone. The walls have just the undercoat so will be slightly darker when finished. Maybe I need to wait till the walls are finished before deciding. What are your thoughts? Leave them darker than the walls? The front entry door is going to be linseed, which is light. You'll be able to see both looking down the entry hall to the front door. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ On the plus side, they've put the stone on the cabinets (also taken with my phone.) If you ask the builders to change it now, it is possible that they might charge you an admin fee. I think without seeing the top coat on and dried you wont get the full effect. It might look great when it is finished (it also might not be the look you want). But you can always change it later at a much cheaper cost. hubby, kids and me all waiting for the Amberlea Site Cut 27 September 2011 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46637 http://www.dscml.com/ Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 - Kitchen Cabinets. 35Dec 22, 2011 4:49 pm +1 here - I'd match your skirts and arcs. But do agree to check when you move in as colours throw differently when there is furniture and blinds etc and at different times of day - and it may be something that you like. When our house was painted I had a heart attack that the Lexicon on our walls looked blue - now that we have furniture and shutters the colour that it throws is more a grey which is what we wanted! Anyways - your house is coming along well Congrats Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 - Frame. 37Dec 27, 2011 5:54 pm Eiffel Aaaah, yes, I now remembered you said you were going away! It looks great too. With regards to the doors, i think its the 'norm' to always go the warmer walls with the lighter doors, but its your home and you do what you like. What is your gut telling you? If it's telling you you don't like it then stop them now. Very jealous... and tbh, seeing your butlers pantry has given me pantry-envy! We have just sent out plans off to be drawn up, but had a walk in pantry rather than the butlers I really wanted.... am thinking maybe I should review it to see if I can make it work any other way! :\ Love the amount of pics... will be living through your build for a while to come until we actually see some action on our own block, so keep the updates coming!! haha Blog: http://matt-and-jo.blogspot.com.au/ Purchased Block: August 2011, Block Settled: Dec, 2011 Contract Signed: 28/6/12, Site Works Started: 9/11/12 Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 - Internal Doors Too Dar 40Jan 13, 2012 5:32 pm Thanks for all your comments. The build has been racing along, so finally time for some more pics! Most of the electrical is finished - we can turn the lights on! And the tiling has started - most of the tiles are laid, but not grouted yet. Matt+Jo - A Butlers Pantry was on our essentials list, so when Carlisle showed us what they could do with this plan, it was the clincher. Very happy with the size of it, it's huge. Unless they plan on putting up more sheeting across the large brickwork area, the facade doesn't match the plan. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'll post the facade as on the plan. This is as it's shown on the front elevation in the actual construction drawings as well. It's says lightweight cladding over. Perhaps they just haven't finished putting the cladding on? It kinda looks like they've finished though. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You can see the rendered part that will be a strawberry colour should extend over the face of the brickwork, but it's not looking like that at the moment. I'll let you know what the SS says.
