Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 11, 2011 12:32 am Hi everyone, Thought I'd start our build thread as we had tender today & all our colours are selected. Just have to wait for the site start now! Hopefully in Oct. We're building the Atlantique 36 with a butlers pantry modification in Kimberley Downs Estate, Narre Warren South, Vic. Below is a working plan, not the finalised one. The areas in bold are where the modifications have been done. The lounge area gets changed into a study & butlers pantry, and the existing walk in pantry becomes a walk in robe for bed 2. The fridge position shifts over slightly and the laundry gets a bit more space (what is shown on the plan as a corner void we're having made into more bench and cupboard space.) The red render (Dulux Strong Strawberry) is going on the main front feature (around the door.) The dark render (Dulux Namadji) is on the taller of the posts. The outside columns are the linseed coloured render, as well as the little bit between the dark column and the brickwork. The timber feature blades in front of the windows will be the same black (Namadji) as the rendered post. The garage door is cedar-grain sectional colourbond with windows in lieu of the uppermost squares of the profile. We upgraded a lot Some of the main things we included/changed are: Refrigerated air-con ducted to 12 points 1m extension to garage Rear roller door to garage Off white mortar Sliding doors to home theatre, ensuite & master robe 2340mm high double front doors to match door height inside. Also made the whole house have the high doors, not just the main areas. (Thanks to someone in the "things you forgot" thread for mentioning the height of the front door. ) Soft close draws (damn expensive but really wanted them.) Colour video intercom Rainwater tank with diversion system supplying the 3 W.C.'s And a bunch of other smaller things. Spent a bit upgrading tiles, but thankfully that's only the wet areas. Interior colours to come! Cheers Michael & Leanne Built Carlisle Atlantique 36 Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=50256 Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 - Site Start! 2Aug 11, 2011 1:20 am Here are the interior colours we've chosen:- Flooring - Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Carpeted areas are bedrooms & home theatre only (and the small hall area in front of rear bedrooms.) The remainder is the blackbutt timber laminate. Upgraded the underlay. Powder room - Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The laminate is the bench which has a deep front drop down. There's a large square mirror over it - the small tiles go around the mirror. We almost ditched this as those small tiles are so expensive, but we thought the powder room is what the guests see, so we wanted to make it look good. Ensuite & Main Bathroom - Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The tumbled gravel feature strips run below the mirror. The photo doesn't do the polished porcelain floor tile (Alto Mocha) justice. This will also go up the spa and bath hobs, with the satin latte tiles for the showers (to ceiling height,) vanity & spa/bath splashbacks. Laundry - Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Nothing special going on here Same floor tile as the powder room. Kitchen - I've included the flooring for the colour in this shot. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We loved the blood red glass splashback. Hopefully it's going to look great. It's so hard to imagine how the colours are going to come out. It's very different to what we had in mind when we walked into our colour selection appointment, lol. Of course I'll share with you the pictures of what it all looks like when it comes together. Can't wait! I have seen the garage door with windows at the top and they look great ...butler pantry is a nice little addition...Did Carlisle have options for modifications or did you provide this idea ? Either ways its a great improvisation. Will be following ur build process closely as Atlantique is one of our favourite display homes 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: Building Carlisle Atlantique 36 4Sep 29, 2011 8:53 pm Had a call from our CLE (Nicole) today to tell us that our docs have been forwarded to construction & we should have a site start in about a week! Whoo hoo. While we were talking she mentioned that the slab didn't include the alfresco area. This is what I'd originally thought, but at tender we were told that the alfresco was slabbed. So I told my CLE that we'd been told it did. She said she'd ring back & a short while later she called back to say that yes they'd made a mistake at tender but now they would have to honour it, so our alfresco is getting concrete. Madison - The butler's pantry option is something Carlisle have on file but they don't mention it unless you ask. We'd been to see the house a couple times & were also thinking of a PD house. My wife mentioned to the salesman at Carlisle that it'd be perfect if it had a butler's pantry, & that's when he said they could do it. Hello, Whats peoples current experience building with Carlisle, specifically in SouthEast Melbourne? We are currently building in SE Melbourne and finding that quality… 0 9196 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37085 Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 30236 |
