Browse Forums Building A New House Re: HEBEL vs BRICK PARTY WALL 2Aug 10, 2011 6:16 pm The last house we purchased was made entirely from Hebel. Apparently it is light weight. I didnt notice any difference between brick vaneer and hebel to live in Re: HEBEL vs BRICK PARTY WALL 3Aug 10, 2011 7:55 pm I found this link which might be helpful: http://www.hebelaustralia.com.au/downloads/uploaded/PartyWall_LRPW_F_ea28.pdf In my opinion, Hebel will offer better sound proofing and fire resistance than brick. Thanks for the link. I read alot of good benefits on having hebel walls but they seem bias as they are companies specialising in hebel. Im building 2 side by side townhouse with a party wall in between and i just want to be certain that hebel offers better sound proofing than bricks. Are there any builders that can give their feed back? Re: HEBEL vs BRICK PARTY WALL 5Sep 15, 2011 7:12 pm I am in the same situation, started with double brick but after a bit of research and talking to builder I am switching to the Hebel. Main reasons I have been swayed: - Noise transfer is most critical where there is no air gap. The double brick walls may well be designed for air gap but sloppy brick layers can create a mess within the wall with their mud minimising the effect - If the Hebel wall is built to the max specifciation with soundchek plaster and good insulation the dba rating seems better. Hope I am right !! I was looking at different options for a fence for my build and Hebel PowerFence seemed like a good option (one of the criteria was a solid wall look). However, I don't… 0 4841 1 5026 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 3660 |
