Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 08, 2011 4:03 pm Hi, At last we narrowed our selection to two builders, that has offer a few variations to our design and fixed site cost. Both houses are almost the same price, same size, JG king one is sligh bigger 1-2 sqrs or so, but that goes to the porch. Total living area is almost the same. Urban edge most of the stuffs are category 2, incl flooring, though standard facade, no render. JG king comes with an upgraded facade, called sterling facade, but all category 1. I have read horrible stories here, so really afraid as this will be our biggest life time purchase Would love to know what people think of these designs and which one prefer. More important is the builder who I should choose as both designs are almost same price, area and design. Any help much appreciated Cheers Adam Urban Edge rouge - Custom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/JpLv12a8RO9MT3iQl75UHA?feat=directlink JG king Inverness - Custom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/5E-U_44SbvADeyTwqCYBJg?feat=directlink Re: My House plans, Urban Edge or JG king? 2Aug 08, 2011 7:47 pm I like jk king better better use of space in walk in, no dark lounge, cos of the light from alfresco, kitchen is more spacious for 2 people and kiddies..the galley one would drive me nuts as we would all get stuck looking into the pantry! no pretend wall in family room...a real wall and all space used for living, not a dark skinny hall. put a cavity slider in by kitchen /bedroom wing and you can close that whole area off you cant with urban more options with JK, than Urban... I feel. Unless of course you plan to make it a theatre room?? Also the UE one not sure what that little room is off alfresco, seems wasted space, where as the JGK one has the dedicated retreat area for the minor bedrooms, much more usable space. Although i would still take a little more space from the family and add to alfresco, I also like having a toilet with a window. Good luck deciding Re: My House plans, Urban Edge or JG king? 6Aug 08, 2011 9:34 pm i like the idea of that cavity door, thanks that small room in ue is the study, we still not decide to have room there, instead use the lounge as study, but its almost a dark room, we like the jgk one more, but really afraid of the reviews, i cant think of a nightmare, hope someone will come up with a happy face who been build with jgk cheers Re: My House plans, Urban Edge or JG king? 9Aug 10, 2011 6:03 pm Did you see this thread or try to send this person a PM? http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=41828&hilit=aris House - Lockup completed 23rd December 2011 - Painters are in!!! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37261&start=0&hilit=Blaxland Re: My House plans, Urban Edge or JG king? 10Aug 10, 2011 7:32 pm Thats my thread that was mentioned above. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6884 |
