TBH, we dont really need the last payment from the bank, we can cover it ourselves. Re: b0son's custom build with Procorp 87Apr 26, 2012 10:13 am 3 weeks now and still no certificate. is there any way of getting one independently of the builder? eg. council inspection? seems the builder is having trouble getting one of the certificates from one of the subcontractors. Re: b0son's custom build with Procorp 88Apr 26, 2012 12:18 pm No idea, do you have an interim certificate yet? Maybe ring the council. We owner built once & didn't get the occupancy certificate done until we were selling the house a few years later! That's the worst part is not having the bins. Re: b0son's custom build with Procorp 94May 01, 2012 2:06 pm I would be putting the paint problem on your 3 month maintenance list but I think the doors require urgent action, how scary would that have been for your daughter & poor grandma! Send them an email. Those doors need urgent attention! Doors were fixed ... they had used the wrong sized pins (the handles come with two sizes depending on door thickness) so when you closed them firmly, they'd slide to one side and disengage from the handle. Re: b0son's custom build with Procorp 99Oct 09, 2012 10:55 pm Thanks for documenting your build. Yes, we built with Procorp and currently reaching the slow build stage. We are a week away from supposed finish date but from your experience we are going to be months away. Looking back during your build - do you have any tips on helping them push along when they start slowing down? Re: b0son's custom build with Procorp 100Oct 17, 2012 12:06 am Do you have a reasonable liquidated damages figure specified in your contract? The reality is that with the contract structured as it is WRT payments, there's no financial motivation to do much after lockup (unless you have meaningful $$ damages you can get back). One thing I have noticed is that when ever anyone in the build process puts a poor review of Procorp up on the productreview website, the review is taken down within a couple weeks. I believe they can only be taken down by the reviewer, not the company they're reviewing, so maybe irate customers are using this as leverage to get their builds finished. I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34266 6 55311 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27328 |
