Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 03, 2011 7:49 pm Hi, Has anyone heard or had a Pioneer ducted air conditioner installed in their house. We have a quote for a Daikin at $12,890 or Pioneer with same specs for $11,490. From what we can gather Pioneer are made with a Daikin motor but rest is made in Australia. Not sure whether to take risk and save the $1400 or pay the extra and go with Daikin. Any feedback would be great. I had a system frm them about 10 years ago. It was cheap as it was through a friend of the family. The system was fine for about 5 years, but then started playing up, it baffled a number of aircond guys, as they could never get the gas pressures right. It used to shut down on really hot days at about 3pm. I have just moved into a brand new rental home (similar size and same aspect) that has a Fujitsu, and our Electricity bill is about 50% cheaper. As with all information, this was my experience, I am sure there are others out ther that have had no issues at all. Judging by lack of responses on here and lack of any reviews we decided to pay the extra and go the Daikin. At least we know what we are getting with Daikin. And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5936 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
