Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building DF Harvard @ Ascot (Bendigo) 21Aug 10, 2012 3:16 pm Yes it's the big nervous time waiting for all the colour selections to come together and so far we've been very happy with ours. We went for matching colours in the main bathroom and ensuite (mainly because we then didn't have to go through anguish of picking another colour scheme). We actually originally were going to go with the Mocha and instead went with the Kurrajong, they're a very similar brick, the Kurrajong has more of a yellow variation in it, which is about the only difference I think. Very jealous about Caesarstone bench, I think we'll upgrade at a later date when we get some more money (say in 15 to 20 years - haha) Just got spoke again with the builder, no word on the garage door but handover is looking like being in the last week of August, so very excited about that. Re: Building DF Harvard @ Ascot (Bendigo) 22Aug 12, 2012 4:48 pm my oh my i can not believe just how quick this has come along we went with boral mocha bricks, and yes you are right there is not much colour difference when we signed with dfh there was a 50% off lux upgrades so we added in the stone benches added driveway made shower in ensuite larger, upgraded sinks in kitchen and bathrooms and a few other things. we actually had a little win last week, when we did our colour selection hubby chose the round sinks for the kitchen and we were always were told by the colour girl that for $500 we got the 2 round sinks, we got the plans yet it only showed 1 round sink, yet the girl kept saying they only draw 1 sink which we thought strange yet we still signed them off. anyways we meet with our SS last month and we discover no it is 1 sink our ss went into bat for us and now we are getting the 2 sinks update for us - half the bricks are up & roof on Building The Harvard 271 With Dennis Family Homes My Blog http://www.ourhouseinwallan.blogspot.com My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=51625&p=789135#p7891353 Re: Building DF Harvard @ Ascot (Bendigo) 23Aug 12, 2012 8:52 pm Your house is looking great, how exciting that your move date is soon, I am going to start packing soon! We are building the hartly in Shepp and so far so good, we are up to doors and arch's and can't wait for paint, we chose a dark color similar to display here. Re: Building DF Harvard @ Ascot (Bendigo) 24Aug 17, 2012 1:36 pm Great news Shell and it's lucky your SS went into bat for you on the sinks. We didn't quite get the same result on the Garage Door, whilst it is going to be changed we are paying $500 extra for something were already paying $400 extra for, but at least it will be the right door in the end. Thanks Mac, the outside has now been painted up and currently the cleaner is in giving it the full polish, carpet has also been laid and will be going for a 'walk through' early next week prior to the Certificate of Occupancy etc all going through, hopefully in a week or so. Will have some completed photos shortly and can't wait to move into our new home Re: Building DF Harvard @ Ascot (Bendigo) 25Aug 19, 2012 5:47 pm Photos (just a few - haha) as promised - nearly finished and only missing photos of the ensuite, but colour scheme is the same as bathroom, minus the mosaics. The door pictured is the Classic Cedar. I wouldn't say it looks weird with brown bricks, but it's definantly a very orange colour in the sunshine, which you can sort of see in the earlier photo. The Cedar really doesn't look like timber from a distance, there's just not enough variation in the colour IMO. The Caoba Dawn has darker tones through each panel which give it more of a timber look. Still a bit worried how the Caoba Dawn door will look though, especially since we dug our heels in to get it.. Re: Building DF Harvard @ Ascot (Bendigo) 28Aug 23, 2012 1:31 pm Thanks, I though it was, I am now starting to worry that it will look awful, I have found the steel line range have a timber look that actually looks genuine and nice colour ranges, Melb get to choose steel line so I might give it a go and see if I can change, a timber without the orange! go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110592 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
