The kitchen looks ultra modern and bright with the green splashbacks you selected. The Alfresco, retaining walls and everything else comes together just beautifully. The plantation shutters are gorgeous!!!! Well Done & thank you for taking the time to give us an update & sharing the lovely photos I honestly wish we got the pantry extended. A butlers pantry would have been awesome! Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 342Sep 21, 2009 1:48 pm Hi Rosa The shutters are blockout. Very minimal light gets through and it's quite dark inside when shut. Em Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 343Sep 21, 2009 9:59 pm Hi Mel&Em your place looks fantastic, great colour selections Could you possibly tell the me the fabric type and colour you used on your romans as it looks very similar to what we are after. We have got a quote from Michael Gubby from your recommendation and he was a great help. Thanks. Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 344Sep 21, 2009 11:10 pm Hi snhouse Our romans are Tuscany Earth. You can see the actual colour here http://www.iseekblinds.com.au/freesamples/tuscany.asp We were very happy with Michael as well. We had venetians put in the kids rooms and feel that they're too bright during the day so we've ordered some hollands to go over the top from Michael as well. As always, he's given us a fantastic price and came out personally to measure up. Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 347Sep 29, 2009 7:39 pm Hi Blessed, not at the moment..... when you got your invoice for fixing stage, did your builder claim all the appliances, tiling shower screens and extra's ( variations) Rosa Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 348Sep 30, 2009 10:22 am Hi Rosa, Fixing invoice was exactly as per the percentage in the HIA contract. Our builder included all variations & extras costs i.e. rain water tank, rainbank kit, tiles etc in the final invoice, cost for extra downlights, phone points, rangehood to be vented externally in the final invoice i.e. the one you pay when you get the Occupany cert. Hope this helps, Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 349Sep 30, 2009 3:18 pm mmm just looking through your colour selections, noice... well done Builder: Me*tricon Homes Design: Freedom Range, Santorini 26 Handover Date: 12th February 2010 Homeone Thread: viewtopic.php?t=22216 Blogspot: http://www.evolvedmonkey-santorini26.blogspot.com Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 350Sep 30, 2009 7:32 pm Post deleted by me as it has since been resolved.
Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 351Sep 30, 2009 8:13 pm Hi Blessed, we've been billed for the fixing stage, tiling, appliances, shower and bathroom accessories, glass splasbacks... etc.... wasnt really impressed. our lendors have told us that since its our 1st payment through the bank they need to inspect the house to ensure that everything is done. If it is not done as per the fixing invoice we will be charged for it an also charged $88 per visit the bank needs to make sure every thing is complete as per invoice. Cheers Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 352Oct 01, 2009 10:56 am conceptcutting Hi Blessed, we've been billed for the fixing stage, tiling, appliances, shower and bathroom accessories, glass splasbacks... etc.... wasnt really impressed. our lendors have told us that since its our 1st payment through the bank they need to inspect the house to ensure that everything is done. Cheers Hi Rosa, I have sent you a pm. Hey Mel&Em, sorry to hear about the issues with the water tank. $899 is a fantastic deal. We paid 3 times more for ours (slimline colourbond) to be installed on a concrete base and hooked up to the rainbank kit (the rainbank kit cost extra). I hope it is resolved satisfactorily soon. Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 353Oct 02, 2009 9:48 am Hi Mel&Em & Rosa, I have a quick question on the splashbacks that were installed in the stove top area. Did you pay extra (upgrade) to have the splashback wrap around the stove/cooktop area? Ours was installed yesterday & we were shocked to see that ours only comes up to half way Wanted to check with you first before following it up with the builder. Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 354Oct 09, 2009 12:42 pm Hi Blessed, Just my 2 cents worth about the glass splahback over the stove. I think if you check your plans it should show exactly where and how high the glass goes. Our preliminary plan shows where and how much glass we are getting. For us the glass behind stove is about 650mm high (to the level of the bottom of the overhead cabinets) and on the sides its only low (probably no more than about 150mm..hard to scale off drawings..). Is this similar to yours? nervs. Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 355Oct 09, 2009 3:46 pm Hi Mel & Em, Hows the house going? Michael came to measure up for window coverings today. He asked me to ask you about the plantation blinds...... do they keep the light out or does it come through the slats? You should see your pantry door and abit of the side wall which shows the glass height. The view doesn't particularly stand-out. I know I only saw it after looking at the plans several times.. hope that helps... Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 358Oct 12, 2009 5:22 pm Hi Conceptcutting, Michael's a champion, you'll be glad you're using him. The shutters are one of my favourite things in the house. We've got them in our bedroom as well as our ensuite. Almost all of the light is blocked out and neither of us have a problem with light getting in in the mornings (or during the rare occassions we get to have a nap during the day....). Not only do they make a feature of the front of the house, I'm sure going to appreciate them during those hot summer nights when you need the windows open (for the evap cooling), but also want your privacy. And, unlike venetians, they don't flap around in the breeze. I can't talk them up enough. If budget allows, go for it. My only regret is not being able to afford them on all windows. Hope that helps Em Re: NBG Buckingham 36E, Moved in and lots of pics... finally!!! 359Oct 18, 2009 10:29 am Oh I wish I went for shutters !!!! The front of your house looks so similar to ours except the brick colour and of course the shutters!!! Our drive way and retaining walls are so similar I had to look twice. My other half has issues driving into our garage - if he sticks to one side and only has one child in the car he can do it without scraping. With two kids in the car he has to do this weird angle turning thing to stop scraping. Wish he'd sell his car. I love what you've done with the gaps between the fence and retaining wall. We have the same issue. I bet you are loving being moved in!! It looks fantastic - well done!! Fi has moved in!!
