Yep .. we did that too .. esp with the rain around at the moment!

Looks like you are all settled
... what lights are you going for ... or still deciding??
wow - looks great

It's amazing the difference light makes on the paint colour as those two photos show. Are your walls one colour throughout? It looks quite a creamy colour, particularly in the bathroom, what is the name of it?

Not quite settled yet a lot of things to unpack and arrange. We just got our lights from Beacon yesterday as we need to wait for them. We are having a round flat flourescent light with chrome trim, electrician will come and fit this friday. Someone will come and give a quote for lawn tomorrow. Unending list of things to do. Especially with a big party I organized for next month I'm getting stressed

Hi dct, yes all walls are Solver moondust
Don't get too stressed ... people will understand you have a lot on your plate. Can you tell everyone to bring a plate to make it easier for you?

Wish I can tell them to bring a plate. Unless they ask I will
still have 2 weeks preparation so hopefully not too bad.

I started my front garden yesterday and gives a bit of life in the front of the house
. Not professionally done but will do for a while. Hope they will lay the turf before the end of this month.

Some pic updates

Front garden will look great .... plants make such a difference don't they?
Hi all,
We are enjoying our new home
time flies so quick ...today we received a letter from Dechellis for 3 months maintenance nothing major so far aside from 3 uneven tiling in family /dining area and some grouts are removed when i cleaned it after my black and white 40th birthday party and housewarming lucky we had that party otherwise we haven't found out that problem just in time for 3 months maintenance i was forced to clean every grout though
so we know which part is affected the grout just dissolves with water when you brush it. Anyway I have some pic updates so far nothing new but more homely now

Well done Margie - your home is looking very settled now - had to laugh at your little boy with two beds!! I bet your favourite colours are green and yellow and I can see that you love plants! It's always hard when you first move in to find all those bits and pieces to make a home - we are still looking for things ... you've done a great job!
Looks like you had a great party too - happy belated birthday!!

Thanks McLaren, Yes I love plants especially with flowers, i was a florist for 10 years in hongkong. My favourite colour is red but i use very sparingly for decoration I love greens looks very fresh , I can't wait for the lawn to finish so i can grow my plants and trees this weather doesn't help though.
Your house is looking lovely
The yellows in the bathroom look very fresh and sunny (a nice pick-me-up during all this rainy weather
).

Perhaps you could entice your son by telling him that his old bed will be sold and he could buy something nice with some of the proceeds...

Love the birthday spread, did you end up doing all the catering or were you able to enlist help? What are the round cakes in the last picture? It all looks very yummy!

Also wishing you a very happy belated birthday
Thanks DCT, I catered all the food for my party my hubby steamed the small green cupcakes (pandan flavour) purple cupcakes (purple yam flavour) and I baked the sweet rice cake towers around 200 pcs enough for my estimated guests 150+ guests including kids. Which round one they are all round except for the big square cake

About the bed, i think he's too young to understand that he's turning 3 in August... Will try again sometime if he's completely settled by hiding the smaller bed fingers crossed he will like it by then
Wow, that's a big party to cater for
Did you hire a warmer or something as it looks like there are a lot of hot dishes there?
It was the green and purple cakes I was referring to, interesting that they were steamed.
The birthday and house warming cakes look lovely too; very indulgent

Your dress looks very nice too

No, I didn't hire a warmer we just set the oven at 60 deg lucky i have a lot of pyrex glass containers you can use in oven and microwave and bring out the food when majority of the guest arrived and just set the deep fryer and cooked spring rolls as the tray got emptied i wrapped around 600 pcs spring rolls

Yes, steaming makes it special very moist and fluffy and not oily because no butter or oil on it just egg milk sugar and flour

Thanks for the compliment for my dress , didn't have time to go out for clothes shopping so i just wear whats in my wardrobe which suits my black and white themed birthday party all my guests wore either black and/or white so being the celebrant i wore red which looks good in the photos

Hi all,
Just dropping by to give an update 5 months after handover. 3 months maintenance was done last month with minor fixing they changed some uneven tiles in the powder room and in the dining area some grouts are removed if you clean it so they fixed it all. our bathroom heater didn't light up once but our site supervisor came to check and fix it straight away lucky he was in the area when we called. At the moment, hubby is busy installing cctv cameras around and we are waiting for the verandah to be installed before i can grow plants. An update photos of the garden now

I would love to see some more pickier of your place all finished and any garden inspiration would be great also. Excellent to hear Dechellis have fixed any problems pretty much straight away!!
Your garden is looking so pretty with those dark pink flowers
I love the one looking up the path to your front door.

I was just re-reading your last post, I would love the steamed cupcake recipe if you get a moment to post here, no butter or oil is a bonus
Although you would have to tell me where to buy the flavourings. Also the sweet rice cakes - would they be gluten free?

Is your son in his new bed yet?

Hi JamieandGhie(monaco). Thanks for your reply. We have 5 demolition companies that we were going to get quotes on, and Magill was one of them, so we will see how they go. We have contacted three of them today....... Good luck with Magill finishing the demolition today or tomorrow. I'll let you know how we go

We just signed a quote acceptance with Magill demolition. They have been very professional and well priced to date.

Building A New House

Hmmm, I have checked your past posts and it seems that you are in NSW, not WA as I had thought. It pays to show your State in your avatar. Retaining wall regulations…
