I've just been busy catching up on your thread actually, an interesting read!! I'm so glad to see your progress too as it's going rather quickly which is great. We had our contract meeting on Tuesday and have been booked in for final selections on the 19th of September! We haven't even received a list of where to go and who to see as yet, so we'll be a bit rushed having it all done before then. Starting to get nervous now but looking forward to having it all done so they can start. Looks like we'll be starting around the same time, though we haven't been given an official date as yet- depends when we can get the demo company in. All very exciting! I also went down to St Clair display today... WOW! The Dechellis homes are gorgeous, though thankfully, none of them were as practical or suited us as much as the Monaco or I might be considering the upgrade! Also just out of interest, our footings have come in around $30k. Re: About to build a Monaco by Dechellis 47Sep 04, 2011 11:11 am We went to the St Clair display yesterday as well! Beautiful homes, love that big glass door! Very interesting speaking with the sales lady there, we are going to be changing sales reps now. It might put us back a couple of weeks but we believe it will be worth it. Any tips you pick up on the way would be very much appreciated Also, photos of progress (when stuff starts) would be fantastic, thanks Re: About to build a Monaco by Dechellis 53Oct 16, 2011 10:06 am Hi JamieandGhie(monaco), we are looking at building the wild orchid (dechellis) home in the western suburbs. I noticed that you will be doing a knock-down and re-build, which we will have to do as well. Did you have any luck with finding a good demo company, or is there anybody you can refer at all? ORCHID Final selections meeting: 20 April 2012 Re: About to build a Monaco by Dechellis 54Oct 16, 2011 4:07 pm Hi Lockstock welcome to the homeone forum and to Dechellis club and monaco club too we can compare notes at what stage are you now? Ok i'll let you know some tips we'll encounter but if we are ahead just feel free to ask. Orchid, we went with Magill Demolition we got 3 quotes and they have the most reasonable price they started last tues even the power and gas wasn't disconnected they even arranged for the utilities to be disconnected instead of us doing it. hopefully they will finish by tom or tues i can recommend them too... our friend recommended them..but its worth trying to get 2 0r 3 quotes for you to decide 3-4k difference with the other two Built the Monaco By Dechellis / SA https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=49855 Slab: 07/11/2011 Handover: 23/04/2012 Re: About to build a Monaco by Dechellis 55Oct 17, 2011 7:50 pm Hi JamieandGhie(monaco). Thanks for your reply. We have 5 demolition companies that we were going to get quotes on, and Magill was one of them, so we will see how they go. We have contacted three of them today....... Good luck with Magill finishing the demolition today or tomorrow. I'll let you know how we go ORCHID Final selections meeting: 20 April 2012 Re: About to build a Monaco by Dechellis 56Oct 18, 2011 4:54 pm Hi JamieandGhie(monaco) my partner and I are still in the planning stages and haven't started the building process at this point in time. We did get an itemised quote from Dechellis at one point to begin preliminary budgeting. If you'd like a copy, feel free to PM me.
