It looks fantastic - so happy! Excited to see where to from here...the block 2 houses down from us has the roof completed and it only began (site scrape) 2 weeks ago! Hopefully it gets going now! Are you one of the houses thats going up facing the creek? I only ask as my sis is building on the corner of creekview and insperation circut. I on the other hand am building over in Amberlee, which i guess is pretty much the same as Eden Brook. Re: EdenBrook Pakenham 110Nov 01, 2012 2:30 pm I am indeed! I'm between two complete houses, we're pretty lucky that the street will be done when we move! That's exciting that you'll be close to eachother Hold Deposit Paid - 11/02/12 Conditional Approval - 15/03/12 Colour Selection - 19/03/12 Unconditional Approval - 13/08/12 Site Scrape -17/10/12 Slab Poured - 23/10/12 Re: EdenBrook Pakenham 111Nov 02, 2012 9:06 am Your house looks like its going up pretty quickly. All the house along that strip went up quick. it will be no time at all and you will be living in it. Have the builders given you and expected date of when it should be completed around? Re: EdenBrook Pakenham 112Nov 06, 2012 6:28 pm Hi guys! Its beeen a while since we've posted, too busy with the new house hehe! Warbler is filling up like crazy! We only just got our tv and internet working after over a month. CNT corp have been the WORST PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH. They came out 5 times, and argus came out 3 times. We are currently fighting them for a discount due to being messed around so much. But everything seems to be working at the moment *touch wood*. Our internet is with Ascensa which is so far so good.... Anyone know who delivers junk mail around this area? We're hanging out for some haha but I'm not sure who would be the best company to contact.. i.e Salmat or something? Re: EdenBrook Pakenham 114Nov 14, 2012 8:28 am Hello Waterman, I see you bought their Voip phone, can I ask what it cost you? Is it only one or are you able to have a few around the house for convenience? I was told I needed to buy an adaptor to use my standard phone which isnt a Voip phone. Wateman Hi himeownerfinally, There are a few options for VOIP plans it all depends no how much you are likely to use the phone. My partner and I both have mobiles so we knew we wouldn't use the home phone too much. We went with a company called MyNetFone and paid $99 for a 1 year plan. This gives us 200 local and std calls a month, calls to mobiles are 25c per minute. It's all pre-paid too, we signed up for $99 and then put $20 credit on the account just in case we call a mobile or something, and they just deduct and extra calls we make from that $20. There are also monthly plans and a bigger yearly plan for $199. It might be worth checking out. We bought our VOiP phones from them too, but if you have one already from your previous plan then there is no need. If a big provider becomes available, and their plans are good then we will probably go with them for phone and Internet but until then this seems to work great we haven't had any trouble at all. EdenBrook Pakenham 115Nov 14, 2012 4:59 pm Hi homeownerfinally we paid $250 but that gave us 3 cordless handsets. I think u do need an adaptor for a normal phone the VoIP one cab work for either. We didn't have a phone already so buying a VoIP one was best for us.. Re: EdenBrook Pakenham 116Nov 15, 2012 8:39 pm Hi all, Since last post a lot has been happening! Within a week of the slab being down, the frame was up and looking wonderful! It's been 3 weeks2days since the slab went down, and the windows and sliding doors are all in and the roof is going on as we speak. It's so exciting! We had been thinking (thanks to Devine's severe lack of communication skills) that it was looking like March, but then my husband spoke to the site supervisor the other day who was trying for Christmas! He now estimates almost everything will be done by Christmas but they'll have a few things to finish after the break. So now thinking end of Jan. It would have been so perfect if it was done by Christmas, especially since I'm a teacher and I have to go back Jan 24 so I'll just miss out! Ours into 17th week now and trying hard to get in before xmas.. fingers crossed !! EdenBrook Pakenham 118Nov 19, 2012 7:03 am Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that you can get your front garden taps moved if u need to.. To be honest we never thought about it but when we started our frog landscaping planning we realised how annoying they are right in the middle. I noticed most people's are in The same spot too.. We had ours moved right near the left edge of our block so try aren't in the way anymore. Cost is about $350ish as the the mains needed to be 'frozen' and it took about 2hours. Was worth it for us as now we don't have to plan around them. If anyone wants the number of the Plumber we used let me know Re: EdenBrook Pakenham 119Nov 21, 2012 10:28 pm Hi Everyone, This is just a article that i read in the news.... http://www.itnews.com.au/News/319326,gr ... dband.aspx This really sucks.... Hi Wateman, did you get connected to the broadband and how are the speeds? Re: EdenBrook Pakenham 120Nov 22, 2012 11:43 am Swedil Hi Wateman, did you get connected to the broadband and how are the speeds? Hi Swedil, We have internet through Aftel currently (not on a plan, just paying month to month) on a 50MBps plan. To be honest with you, the speeds have been perfectly fine! I checked them regularly, especially early on, and really couldn't complain. There have been the odd times when it has been a little slow, but honestly after coming from another house in Pakenham on standard ADSL internet, this internet has not been an issue at all. I am a reasonably heavy user too, with downloads and such (*Computer Nerd) and as much as I would like the 100MBps speeds if available, the speed I have received has been fine so far. I think most of the issue that article is referring to comes from the early days when Multinet were the only provider available, and the early residents could sign up for the 100MBps speeds, we moved in not long after Multinet were no longer allowed to sign new customers, so in the end we might have just missed out on all this mess! I honestly wouldn't worry about the problems mentioned in that article. I think CNT have learnt their lesson, they aren't offering speeds they can't provide now, and they will be watched closely by the ACCC and all the residents too. Just keep an eye on the speeds you get, and complain if they seem less that what you have paid for. |
