I'd be tempted to move the island toward the rear of the house and extend the bench along the dressing room wall for more kitchen space. I would definitely do this, you could have cupboards all along the dressing room wall in the kitchen. You have a very small pantry, so would be ideal to have more draws and cupboards. ? to change the toilet and linen wall to ummm how do I put this.... the wall going from top of plan to bottom of plan instead of from left to right of plan, that way you will get a bigger linen cupboard as there is no cupboards in your laundry. Re: Redink - Complete 250 in Harrisdale Green WA 10Jul 24, 2011 4:29 pm Hey guys, thanks for all the suggestios! Most of the things that have been mentioned have been things that we have been considerig. We have run out of money accept we have 15k left at for prestart. I hate having that wall blank in the kitchen but we are having silver forest granite benchtops and we have bulkhead and overhead cupboards along excisting bench so it would be to expensive to extend the bench all the way along the dressing room wall. I was thinking of moving the kitchen up and having a bigger pantry and the fridge recess along the other wall??? The idea of the dressing room was to have a full length mirror at one end and a sitting chair at the other... it has shrunk alot since then though and may not be very practical anymore! Which seems to be abit of a theme with this build! Were choosing style and spec over practicality! I love the idea of the mini courtyard! And having the other wc flipped longways for more storage space but would it be weird having it open to the main hallway... SPA Ensuit Shower Silver Forest Thanks! Re: Redink - Complete 250 in Harrisdale Green WA 11Jul 24, 2011 8:48 pm Love the granite! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Redink - Complete 250 in Harrisdale Green WA 12Jul 24, 2011 10:56 pm you will LOVE the inclusions with the complete, and you wont need that 15k prestart allowance, most things are already upgraded!!! we are also building complete 250 (at least thats what our plan is based on, looks nothing like it) high ceilings to living areas, air con, stone, 900mm appliances etc etc Building our own custom design with Redink Pre-start - 28/06/2011 Building license approval - sept 2011 Footings - 8/10/2011 my thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48921 Re: Redink - Complete 250 in Harrisdale Green WA 14Jul 25, 2011 12:54 pm I now also have spa envy!!! With the kitchen I too aggree with others to pull back the wall into the dressing room 500mm and add a wall of cupboards, don't need the builder to add them in tho. go to the Formica website and design your kitchen the way they have (you can even do this with the colours you have chosen) then add the wall of cupboards and see the difference, to add the bulkhead for these later is an easy thing to do with mdf, it will give you a price of what it would cost, if they aren't already included don't get your overheads through builder, they price them wayyy too high, get them through Formica direct Building our own custom design with Redink Pre-start - 28/06/2011 Building license approval - sept 2011 Footings - 8/10/2011 my thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48921 Re: Redink - Complete 250 in Harrisdale Green WA 15Jul 25, 2011 1:27 pm Thanks jaredlia... titles were issued a couple weeks ago... about a month early! Went and changed the plan a bit for the last time before drafting. Put another 6 square metres through the house, made the master bedroom bigger and the laundry big enough to fit in some shelves. Made room in the kitchen for a wall full of cupboards that we will do after prestart, try and get a microwave recess in there to. I wouldn't necessarily have an entire wall full of full height cupboards tho. I am not sure of your kitchen measurements but I would want more bench space that that. Not sure how big your dressing room is but if it fits what about putting the opening on the short side. Then you can have 2 long walls of shelves/rails/draws/whatever you would like. And still get your full length mirror at the end. Maybe not the chair you were thinking about tho. How much bench do you have? I was considering deleting the pantry and extending that bench a metre. Also along the dressing room wall the unit will have a "bench " area that can be concealed with some doors for microwave and toaster etc.
