Did NHI pick up any issue with the slab design? Or do inspectors only ensure the job is done as per the drawing? We got independent inspector only for frame and PCI. Photos for you all... http://bendigowaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2 ... -done.html Looks good! We found the pre-slab inspection very valuable - we had a few small issues but they were fixed. We had a frame inspection yesterday and the inspector found that some of our slab near the alfresco area had exposed rebar... because some of the concrete had come away and the rebar is rusting. Rusting rebar can be really bad. So they have to treat it all then cover it up. I think that inspection just paid for itself! ![]() Our frame is all up and roof started this week. It is coming along nicely! ![]() Re: Porter Davis homes 9989Jul 16, 2014 11:58 pm Slab wasn't poured today... way too wet for the trucks to get in and not get bogged! We are adding 3 cabinets to our kitchen island bench. PD has come back with a quote of $7000 inc GST + stone stop (we only have to pay for half of that though because it's partly their fault). Is this the usual price for these types of cabinets? Re: Porter Davis homes 9996Jul 18, 2014 4:17 pm Hi all, I've just been to the contract appointment but it wasn't successful bcos of some reasons. Below is the questions where I don't get satisfactory answer from PD. I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me with these: 1. I can't have eaves on side boundaries bcos there needs to be natural lights for the bedrooms. But based on BCA 3.8.4.2, the natural lights provision just states that the window size will need to be at least 10% of the room floor area and the window needs to be at least 900mm from the boundaries, which I satisfy both the requirements. It doesn't mention anything about the eaves. 2. The max length of glass splashback they told me is just 3.6m. I believe it should be 4.3m, isn't it? How could I persuade them to do that? Mine is just 4m. Many thanks Re: Porter Davis homes 9997Jul 19, 2014 11:32 am ![]() 2. The max length of glass splashback they told me is just 3.6m. I believe it should be 4.3m, isn't it? How could I persuade them to do that? Mine is just 4m. Our kitchen splashback is 4.05m wide and we have a single piece of glass for our kitchen splashback. Talk to Joanne (Team PD) about it, no guarantees but sometimes this can be an uphill battle. Re: Porter Davis homes 9998Jul 19, 2014 2:07 pm Jackula...
