They sent me three options. I didn't like them, so I asked if she could send me other options in the lifestyle and prestige range which she did. I got to choose from 6 in total, at no extra cost.

The wood may be placeholders for painted I fills, but that expansion joint is definitely inconsistent! How could they miss such a thing?

Check your contract drawings and look for "FC Sheet Infill Over" above your windows - if that's there, I believe that means you're getting wood infills. Aluminium isn't standard, so unless you requested it explicitly this would be normal.

Less than ideal, I know, but window frames almost never fit into the brickwork perfectly so some infill is unavoidable. Pity builders don't seem to explain this properly.

I took a second look at that expansion joint and really hope they can explain it to you. I'd be furious personally.

I have already noticed a few issues with my place but they dont want to hear about the problems until walk through. I kind of figured they would want to get them fixed now instead of waiting but oh well.

Thanks mummaDJ, sky02, & backpocket. We received a call from SS in the morning requesting to change PCI t tomorrow morning. As a couple of things that was suppose to be completed during the weekend hadn't. Since we rather have things completed we agreed. Will keep you guys posted.

The bricklayer should have checked the gauge from the rebate on the slab to the top of the window and set the gauge accordingly to set the lintel at the correct height. Some slight differences creating a gap are usually covered up with some 15-20mm quad, not standard framing pine which will rot . Any timber used in areas like this should be suitable for external applications [treated] being completely painted both inside and out to prevent water from getting behind and rotting in the future [especially the end grain], especially as there is no protection from an eave in the lower part of the wall.
Window height does make a difference re the amount of brick courses down the side but the difference is made up in the sill or in the splits under the sill. The bricklaying on both jobs look pretty good but those window really let the job down and I would not accept it.

Both Tinker and ajd78 seem to have the same issues her and I'd hazard a guess to say they may have the same supervisor and or bricklayer. Either way I recommend you PM each other and have a chat.

Had my tile selection today, so no more picking! Now just gotta wait for my bank/broker to get their asses into gear so we can get started.

That's basically the admin side of things done for me, and I must say I'm very impressed. Much easier and more informative than last time (not that last time was bad, other than a couple of dramas, it was quite good too).

Now to wait for some building to happen so I can start taking pics. Far too many pics of an empty block of land and garden taps!
