Ajd78 I would suggest a meeting on site after sending a detailed list of everything. Then walk around the build with the SS and write notes next to every point. What they are going to do to fix it and when. some of our issues did not get fixed until a particular trade was coming back to do something and work could go on around it. Check his version of the plans, elevations, tiling diagrams all match what you signed. We found our current SS did not have the latest plans, despite the slab guys having the latest plans. So sometimes contractors have different versions as well.

We did this just after our second SS took over and was trying get it all back on track. Both of us (the darling man and me) were there so there was no "he said/you agreed". I realise some people have great BCs. We don't and considering we are spending our hard earned we wanted answers face to face especially when we had emails ignored and calls not answered and messages not returned. He had no idea we were getting the same window as in the hoffman man display at Aspire. I had the contract with me and showed him where it was listed and charged for. He is working on this one because PD have changed window suppliers. We have also emailed pictures after going to Aspire to take them.

We currently have a mortar problem our SS is aware of and is monitoring but I will have no compunction in enforcing the terms of the contract. We are all human and make mistakes, it is how they are rectified that is the issue. Now we have met face to face, we had had minimal issues really and almost all are now fixed, although some we are still waiting on. (Another was ticked off today, he had booked a trade to come last week and the guy did not show).

We visit the build every night and I keep a diary of what was done/ delivered during the day. Will get harder now we are at lock up but we can see through the bottom windows.

Speaking of reading the forum, I had a second unsolicited call from my BC today. Amazing, in five months I have now had two calls that were not prompted by me from my BC. Perhaps she reads them too?

Hi guys we have a fly screen on our stacker doors at our current house. What in particular do you want to see? If you let me know I will take pictures that show it. Otherwise it is just a picture of a screen in front of empty space.

Hmm no idea it may depend on if you need second soil tests etc...its getting close to chrissy shutdown too so I would think worst case scenario would be when they get back in mid jan?

Back Pocket, would you just take a couple of pics of the stacker doors opened, with the screen door both opened and closed for me And just curious as to what you paid for it

I'd be interested to see how the retractable flyscreen works with the bifolds actually! Did you get this through PD or did you do it after handover?

The thing with the stacker doors is that they don't come with a track for flyscreen doors like a normal sliding door - so you have two options - to bolt on an extra frame/track to the door frame (just trying to find out how this looks) to get proper flyscreen doors. Or get a retractable one which runs on the same track as the fixed panel which takes up less space and you don't have to bolt into the brickwork.[/quote]
I will take some photos of our stacker screens this weekend for you. The tracks are integrated, not bolt on and they work very well for us.

well disregard my previous post! we are not starting today... why? because our plans haven't been approved yet, they say we might be in the flame zone... if we are, I'm not building, that's it, I'm over this BS... first we ended up being bushfire zone between buying land and settling, our first door neighbour on the right has built in the previous stage and has NO bushfire protection... our neighbour to the left started building about 2 weeks ago, which means his report has been uploaded and he apparently isn't a flame zone... oh and the houses across the street that are being built are not in the bushfire zone either... I guess our lot is cursed...
