We are using Choice home loans but the loan is coming from Bankwest

he said, she said.... Someone has stuffed up. I don't care whose fault it is, we just want it sorted out b/c the longer it takes to build the longer we have a bigger mortgage. The broker said we still need to get the quotes and sign more paperwork... Waiting to hear back from some concreters with written quotes.

It must be the season for crapola from banks and finance brokers. My home that I sold (120 days ago!!!) and the land that I have purchased settles in 2 days on the 20th. I just received a phone call from my conveyancer saying that the people who purchased my house haven't had their loan approved WTFFFF!!! Apparently someone left the finance broker's office and nobody picked the file up again, not withstanding that, surely if you were buying a home and you hadn't actually signed mortgage paperwork wouldn't you think hang on something isn't right here?

I have $40k of their money which is non refundable, problem is they are living in my house already as I was ready to move and they offered to rent it from me till settlement. I am certain all will be well, but it has upset my convenyancer, as he is saying I might have to pay penalty's for not settling with the land, so they in turn will have to pay penalty's as well.

My head is officially done in for they day, now where did I hide that bottle of booze!

Yeah, we just don't get it. We had formal approval (in writing at the start of July) from the bank for the building and construction and the amount was higher than what we now need. Someone is BSing us. Our BC has been great and we really believe it's the mortgage coordinator not doing her job - esp as she couldn't give us any clear answers and was saying something about we'll just put it behind us and move on. Right - wonder if she would be happy to pay for us the extra interest we'll have to pay.

So there doesn't seem to be anything we can do other than suck it up and get the quotes then sign paper work. Pathetic!

But you're right Back Pocket - this will be a distant memory soon. It's just annoying, but we're all human and people make mistakes - but it would be nice if they could fix it quickly and waive the extra interest we'll now have to pay - as if that would happen *snicker*

What a week for a few of you!!!

I'm a little confused with the finance situation. We were told by our bank that we could not finance anything that was outside the house contract? Ie if we wanted to do a decking or fencing or our own flooring then we wouldn't be able to borrow the funds for this, it would have to come out of our deposit? Does this sound correct as I noticed a few people above saying they were getting quotes for these things for finance? Cheers

i have to admit so far things are going pretty well. There were a few errors (on PD's part) during the contract stage, but the slab went down today and Neil our supervisor has been just great! looking forward to the rest of it Is anyone else building in Gippsland? and has any used rustic nougat bolero floors?

Thanks Back Pocket, he was with us until now, as he was only around for the slab stage, then we get Phil, who has also been doing things as he lives closer to Gippsland than Neale both have been just lovely. I voiced an issue with them, and the following work day he traveled down to suss it out hoping the rest goes as well as the last few weeks

Suzybuzy, backpocket - we too had Neale.. He is the friendliest guy going around!!! He was lovely and very helpful and informative.

I also cant complain about our SS. Not who you mentioned, but he has been very helpful with our current *minor* issues... Oh, and he barracks for the Hawks... cant be too bad
