Hi All.. The house is coming along a treat. Tiles have all been laid and grouting being done today. Plumbing also today + fit offs and carpets next week. I should be getting a date for PCI and completion. As usual, I have had no problems with my BC or SS. They have really been prompt with getting any issues fixed without question, big or small. Upon completion, I'll be giving them a very good review. Click on the below link to view current pics.

Hi everyone,

been following the experiences of many on the forum for almost 6 months and have learnt a lot during this period. Thanks everyone for their inputs.

Since my site start is going to happen next week, HOORAY (Finally) i thought of to share my experiences with others...Just started to update my blog....

Hi Swedil, I’ve heard from a lot of other clients that the administration and pre-site start stage can be very slow so you must be excited about your site starting. I look forward to following your build and the updates on your blog. ::lol::

Hi all,

This is my first post in this forum, I have been reading all your posts and they have been extremely helpful as a guide to us in our building project. Thanks for all your inputs.

We will be demolishing our home and build the Waldorf 44. Our tender appointment is 6th August. Between now and tender we will be finalising our selections.

I will start a blog in the near future and share our experiences as we go through our building process.

Any plumber can move the tap to the side of your house, onto the fence etc, for example. Only costs a couple of hundred usually and looks so much neater

Thanks for this...will have to get the SS to ask the plumber to move it out of the way (and pay him)...I am sure the car does not have the clearance to dive over the taps...Its real stupidity though on part of the water company

Just wanted to stop by and say that everything is going along smoothly for us. Lots of little issues and a long wait between settlement and fixes but very helpful staff at PD and attention to details/responsibility taken for any issues. I must say that PD have been thus far reliable at resolving things to our satisfaction, fantastic in that way. Wish I had more time to catch up on where you all are at. Hope everyone is well. A note to say that we bought our bathroom items such as toilet brush holder, towel rails etc on Ebay - found some really gorgeous ones there; then can also recommend these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/270720819076 ... 1439.l2649 have them in the ceiling over our kitchen, controlled by our amp/apple technology by our iphones. Loving that.

Wardrobes
We used Unique Wardrobes - offer a brilliant system, lots of options and very good pricing. Highly recommend them. Installation was also quick!

Informed our SS that the water meter has been placed in the middle of our driveway, SS asked me to contact the water company (I don't think I should have anything to do with all this until handover) and he too would speak to them, I was quite amazed when the water company informed me that as per the drawing the garage for our house is on the left hand side when in reality it is on the right hand side.

I sent the BC & SS an email, the permits department has informed the our BC that the client will have to bear the cost of relocating the water meter more than 300mm. This still does not resolve the issue.

What I don't get is why is the client responsible for inefficiencies of the builder and/ the water company. This is something new to me.

Thanks ma, we're really pleased with the progress. So far our site supervisor has been fantastic; we can't fault him. Hopefully that continues (although I suspect it's easy to be a good supervisor when things are going well :wink:

, i.e. no delays outside your control etc.).

Somehow I missed your latest blog update, but your place is looking great! I'm partial to a grand entry, and yours looks fantastic. Sometimes I think double doors with no sidelights look a little dark, but the light above (I assume it has a proper name that I don't know :lol:

) really sets yours off

Have been informed by our BC that there was a miscommunication between the water company and PD and the taps/water meter will be moved 600 mm from its present location with 4 business days.

First delivery of furniture Saturday and it rolls on from there. Just stopped past and it's all looking good, and ready!

Nice to see some of your builds taking shape now, and by the look of so many in admin there'll be a few more shortly. Will post pics on my thread in the next couple of days

Hi all, this is my first post on the forum, however I have been reading it regularly. We are first time builders, building the Drysdale 30. Our progress has been relatively smooth (except for a few unexpected costs) and very fast! We were informed of the slab date one week prior to it being completed (24/7) and have been informed that the frame should be finished on Monday!!!!
I was wondering if many people had independent inspections carried out on their build stages. I know that Porter Davis say that they have independent inspectors at every stage however I am almost 100% certain that one did not occur at our slab stage. When I requested a copy of the report, our consultant said that they are only informed if there are no issues so all is good. I am not so sure....
