The tap got fixed last week. The rest is being done today by a single guy.

We have some paint touchup's, which is awesome cause we didnt get any left over paint. He is getting a 4L tin, he only needs about 50ml.

Hi all. They have done all the wiring at the house including the alarm. I wanted to ask anyone who got an alarm through PD, were did they put the box with the light on it outside? they have put ours on the corner, but on the side of the house behind a downpipe and isnt visible at all, has anyone had this? also, all our sensors, are in the corner, but approx 10cm's down from the actually corner?

As you face the house, ours is on the left hand side (above the bedroom windows) our key code is at the door, our sensors are all flush with the wall and the roof. They are fairly big sensors (10cm)

Hi guys, Just noticed on our PD home that they have fitted one of those twirly bird things in the garage and it's visible from the street. Has anyone else had this fitted to their garage and it's visible from the street? Thanks.

is yours a hills one? did you upgrade or just got the standard one that was around $1000

my house its right at the back, im probably wrong, but it could depend on if your house is north facing etc

my house its right at the back, im probably wrong, but it could depend on if your house is north facing etc

Ours has one on the roof at the back of the house. The one on the garage stands out from the street and looks ugly!

We recieved a letter from PD yesterday saying that they were changing our underlay from rubber to foam. The letter made it sound like this is a good thing, but of course they will say that :wink:

Anyone have any thoughts on rubber v foam? Is it something we should take issue with?

Can someone pls refer a handyman to install toilet holders and towel rail in Keysborough area...We have built a PD house and as this is our first home we don’t dare to do ourselves

....I called a handy man and he said 150$ to install 3 toilet holders and 1 towel rail

$150 is probably not too bad considering it is more then likely a few hours work. Lots of measuring involved! You want them to be square and on the wall nice and tight!

Just had an issue resolved by our SS and BC

We were initially asked to upgrade to transluscent windows because we were building a double storey.
After consulting the council, they said that the Overlooking Requirements is not applicable for us since there's no property behind and beside our property. We've raised this with our SS and BC (error was made during planning stage). After heaps of email exchanges and calls, we're very happy to share that they have addressed our issue.

Here's what we've learned from this experience:
1. do not hesitate to raise an issue, after all, you're spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for the property
2. do lots of research, backup your claim with facts
3. be reasonable and courteous, ensure that your complaint is valid.
4. use PD's 24x7 portal to ensure that every communication is documented (we noticed that they respond faster via 24x7)

At this point, we're really happy with our SS and BC. So far, they're doing their best to deliver our dream house.

Did they say how long it would take? I don't have any recs, but I'd probably pay $150 (while cursing the fact that I'm not handy enough to do it myself :lol:

). Perhaps call a couple of different handymen; at least that way you'll know what the ballpark is. You don't know anyone handy who'll do it for pizza and beer :lol:

Oh well I have signed on tender for Air con and paying thousands for it then when I signed the construction drawings they added a building variation for $1200 to have two zones.

When I questioned the $1200 and that it was supposed to be fixed price tender they raised another building variation and cancelled the $1200.

Not sure what happened there but I was happy that they rectified the error and we moved on.

So far I sense that they are doing their best but you have to keep your eyes wide open.
