So far they need to add some render to one of the front window frames, clean front portico/entrance as there is render dropped all over it. What sort of items are you having PD look at so i can keep an eye out?? Thanks! Basically, they will fix things that have broken since handover, anything left over or missed on your behalf will not be resolved at Maintenance, I found the process abhorrent. Also, we moved in Jan, our maintenance booking was May, and repairs July. ![]() Re: Porter Davis homes 5484May 31, 2012 11:54 am Thanks Sammyjane31, We have done the same thing for our electrics. I have gone over it a few times and I think we have everything covered. I need to double check our heater points though as I would like to make sure we have one point in each bathroom. We might consider some outdoor wall lights come our appointment. I'll speak to someone at National Tiles on Saturday to see if I can arrange an appointment time with them on the weekend as Hopetoun only do weekdays. We are lucky that our driveway, path and landscaping are part of our package. I don't know how much input we will have in the landscaping but hopefully they do a good job. I think we will take some cut offs from my parent's garden too if we don't have a good enough selection from PD. Also, we moved in Jan, our maintenance booking was May, and repairs July. ![]() Thankfully to date nothing has broken - the render was done post handover as it wouldnt stop raining and couldn't be completed prior, so when it was done it was probably rushed and MAYBE they forgot the other window (not sure how they could have missed it) and left slopping drips of render on the front door entrance. I dont expect them to actually do them at 3 months, as long as these get done i really dont mind if it takes a couple of months. But 1 thing for sure, we will bug people BC/SS and whoe ever else to get things done. ![]() Forrestdale 27 Land Titled:4/11/11 Building Permit:4/11/11 Site Start Date: 16/11/11 Slab Date: 01/12/11 Frame Date:05/12/11 http://hordefamilyhome.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 5489May 31, 2012 2:19 pm BTW Humble any new pics of the backyard or the house?? We had quite a list.. lots of little things. We have a cracked tile, that cracked the day we moved in when someone stepped on it. We have mortor blowouts/cracks in tiles, especially where it joins doors. 3 door handles.. the list went on.. over 30 items. Nothing really has been done with the house, we decked the front. Waiting for winter to be over to do the rest, as its a waste of time now. (nothing new will grow) Re: Porter Davis homes 5491May 31, 2012 2:35 pm I noticed some mortar blow outs when they cleaned the bricks but the SS said it was fine and normal. Is this something i need to add?? My lockup invoice was paid in MID DECEMBER!!!.... since then, for the last 5 and a half months its almost been like a "go slow" on my build. Still no PCI. No BC contact. No SS update. After lockup, from others on this forum, it should be 3-4 weeks for fixing max, then 6-8 weeks for PCI....Lockup was 25 weeks ago!!! I wish I was back in my little 3 bedroom house. Someone pinch me... I thought this day would never come... 240 days since site start. *does happy dance* How exciting Mikey ![]() ![]() Thanks for the response JLD, humble and Zinner. I emailed our BC to check if these dates are ok and they are apparently fine. We have already been to Hopetoun and picked a bunch of colours. Then we went back to the display home and changed our mind on every one. We definitely know what we want now so amended our wish list. We will be going to National Tiles on Saturday and back to Hopetoun to hopefully have a pretty finalised list of everything. I'm guessing then we will go back the week before to confirm everything we picked is still what we want and available. We are not eligible for the FHOG but we still need to sign before the 1st of July to avoid general yearly mark ups as well as anything the carbon tax will do. So if we sign contracts on the 28th and something needs to be amended does that mean we still make the deadline? So confusing. JLD - Planning the move must be a real pain. Lucky both my partner and I still live with parents so we will be buying a whole new lot of stuff. Still painful having to wait for delivery men that give you four hour time frames :/ I don't even want to think about curtains or landscaping yet! Glad to hear so much is going on for you house! humble - I hope our appointments go quickly too, as we should have a definite list and we also have drawn where we want all our electrical. What happened with your electrical? Zinner - Thank you for that, it does make me feel much better about it all. I guess now we just wait. I wonder when National Tiles will call for their appointment with us. Hopefully that can happen before the colours and electrical. I guess we could make it work if they were all the same day. Hopefully ours run as smoothly as yours ![]() Sounds like you've got it all sorted ![]() Other things that caught us out at Hopetoun.....they didn't ask us what finish we wanted on the bench edges ie square, pencil round etc. so make sure they ask you rather than just choose for you. If shadowline is included in your benchtops you can change it from black (no matter what Hopetoun tell you). Feel free to ask here for prices etc and we can help Re: Porter Davis homes 5497Jun 01, 2012 12:08 am ![]() ![]() Getting keys tomorrow... Someone pinch me... Why do you get Ebony from this site to get your BC to call you and sort it out. There is nothing I can do about it. Spoke to the BC today finally. She was nice but I dont think there is much she can do. She told me that she cant give me a PCI or approximate completion date and I would have to ring the SS. Rang the SS and left a message (again)... Surprise,... no call back. Found out from the BC when the penalties kick in and how that all works. Wont compensate me for my total loss from here on in (covers about 20% of my costs) but at least its something. Wont get it until the house is built unfortunately so wont help me at all in the short term. Bank wont give me the money they erronousely took until house is built either... all to familiar policy. Got the feeling that now they have 90% of my money for the house that they no longer care. There are other areas that they would rather spend there time and resources. I'm obviously not really a priority for them now. They can handle paying me the piddley liquidated damages cost while they put the resources into getting more money somewhere else. It cost me almost 4 times more to pay all my costs than what I get in damages. I guess thats just how big business and the building industry works these days... Re: Porter Davis homes 5500Jun 01, 2012 5:12 am Zinner, I feel for you, we have friends in the same position as you with PD, it is a bloody joke. They are at the point now of thinking about hiring a private detective to find where their SS lives so they can hassle him every single day in person until what they have paid for is completed. You really should not have to do that, in fact it is pathetic that you do. I noticed someone mentioned to msg ebony lol...I wonder if people realise that all the people who play "ebony" are simply there to appease the people who dare say something bad about PD and their poor service, it is a common thing to have now for large companies, it makes the customer feel special and costs the business next to nothing to do and looks like they give a cr4p. Besides, if they really did give a crap one of the Ebonys would have already appeased you in the thread numerous times, easier to skip past your posts though it seems! Wish you all the best in getting into your house as promptly as possible. Wow that is terrible about the insurance! I guess ideally proof of insurance should be provided prior to first deposit but I'd imagine they would refuse to be out of… 17 9529 There isn't any need to. As I wrote previously, there isn't a set term, there is just commencement based on earlier of contract signing or building permit issue and… 24 9276 Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 2683 ![]() |
