This was built in our house price as a part of the promotion so ended taking it up. I agree it was quite expensive, we ended paying $7700 for driveway (concrete) and front landscaping. Has anyone changed the designs of their cupboards either in the pantry / kitchen to include a wine racks. Our first BC informed us that we will not be charged for modifications we make to the designs but the second BC informs me she will check with estimating...quite contradictory...Looks like its different strokes different folks... Hi Baronx, I'm sure Ebony will reply tomorrow, but just to help.. We got our pd rewards card after signing our contract, as far as I know we can use it now during construction but haven't yet. The card comes with a book telling u of discounts and offers available to you Re: Porter Davis homes 4444Feb 01, 2012 6:09 pm I had to request the PD rewards pack from our BC specifically. Me: "Do you ship or have a distributor in Australia. I've been ringing everywhere but the Bunnings stores that you distribute to don't sell them don't anymore. Thanks in advance." Redishade replied:"Thank you for your interest in our product. We have a couple of local options for you to try. We received word from a customer who contacted the Bunnings in Tuggeranong (Canberra) and found they had a few of our shades in stock. They're shipping them to the Bunnings near her in Sydney. You could try contacting the Tuggeranong Bunnings store first. We have also established a new distributor relationship in Australia. Their contact information is: Damon De Angelis Hometec Plantation Shutters Ringwood Vic Aus Ph: 0408 335 973 Fax: 9879 3379 e: info@htfa.com.au w: http://www.htfa.com.au/ If either of these options do not work out, we would be happy to work with you directly from here in the States. Please contact us via email at sales@redishade.com so we can review your specific needs. I hope this info will help the people interested in this product and save them from ringing every Bunnings store in Melbourne. But this email did come too late for me. I got desparate and I actually found a similar shade on ebay (melbourne seller) http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Home-Garden- ... ary+blinds Also by looking Hometec Plantation Shutters website ( http://www.htfa.com.au ) they seem to be a wholesaler. They do shutters, various types of blinds, sell wicker furniture so they may be cheaper than purchasing from retailers. I have yet to contact them though. Hi eli-kay123.. I ordered 10 of these last week only from Amazon US after trying to find these locally. Order was delivered in a week via DHL, strangely enough they shipped each blind in a separate package and so my card was charged for each blind separately. Final cost per item was around $18.50 AU including shipping. However, our land developer do not allow the painted driveway, and PD have been in a bit of a tizz for a few months now trying to work out what the alternate option is - we still do not know! You should ask your BC about it so you don't miss out! Re: Porter Davis homes 4456Feb 02, 2012 1:13 pm Just found out why we still don't have a gas meter installed on our new property. Apparently it has been stolen. We claimed one was never installed as we visited the property just about everyday and never saw it and Origin claimed it was installed on 3 Jan. I am sick of people no actually I wouldn't call them people, more like scavengers just coming onto other people's property and taking want doesn't not belong to them. Karma to you whoever took it. I just rang Origin and found out our SS has been in contact with them and told him he needs to put a police report in in order to get one installed asap. Moving in on Saturday..... Aaargh!!!!! The reason I say this is the Gas service provider owns the meters, and they are the only ones that can install it. No one will buy this off anyone - unless the guys plans to hook up the meter on the sly - he would have to be in the industry to make that happen. It seems to mostly be a mixture of tradies (stealing) or kids (vandalizing) and both are pathetic scum. Reading about how upset people are from having things Stolen from their new house, or even while they are building, I don’t know how people can be so heartless. Vandals are just as bad, the other day in an estate that my parents live in, I saw a new looking, but smashed concrete letter box sitting in the middle of a round about. No doubt kids on school holidays out late and found that funny, and even in our estate, I noticed a couple had driven down to visit a block I assume they had just bought (as I noticed a new ‘Sold’ sign on it) but the sign was covered in graffiti. Not a big deal really, but if I had just bought my first house/block of land, and went down to visit, take pictures etc and found the sign covered in crude graffiti I think it would leave me feeling a little sad and disappointed. I really hope karma does exist out there for these people. /end rant Re: Porter Davis homes 4460Feb 02, 2012 2:38 pm Will do Sammyjane31. Yes it sucks and I can't understand why they would want a gas meter, hot water unit I can understand, but a gas meter. Floorboard were finished being laid yesterday and carpet will go in tomorrow. I will take pics of house when carpets are done. NB: we decided to do flooring after handover as we found carpet that we liked that PD didn't have it at Hopetoun as a choice and in regards to the floorboards, we used the exact same type as Hopetoun (Unique Timber Floors) and we got it for $5K less than what PD were going to charge us. Pays to do your homework. Hope things are going well with you.
