I was told $150 per downlight for led is what we had to get if we wanted them, I didn't ask whether that includes the globe or not.

Has anybody here that has had the data four pack know what enclosure they use? For some reason I haven't been able to get a straight answer about this.
They started me off on a 'smart wiring basic' pack but then changed me to the four pack cos I added some more points. I want be able to add more points down the track but don't want to find out I need a whole new enclosure cos this only holds 8 points or something. I have 5 tv, 5 data and 2 phone points.

As for the data four pack, they provide a linksys switch but dont think they provide an enclosure like the other "wiring packs" - refer to my earlier posts from yesterday for details

We had our colour selection a week and a half ago. It's currently $151 for each LED... I don't know what the extra $1 is for :th:

Just to clarify.. for the same light output, we were advised for every 2 halogen's you would need 3 LED.

2xHalogen = $200 v's 3xLED = $450...

Or another way.. 24xHalogen = $2400 v 31xLED = $4650... :th:

Depends on the type and Watts... if there GU10 9w (i think thats what they are called) they are only slightly dimmer than the normal DL's.
We are only going to install them (by PD) in the kitchen and family rooms where the lights are on all the time... the rest downstairs will be normal DL's

Will do the upstairs ourselves - can get a LED DL kit for $30 to $60 dollars each and they are 240v (no transformer) - this way I can install 3-5 times as many than getting PD to do it

We also had our electrical a week ago and were told each LED was $149 and for the ones supplied by PD we would require 3 LED for every halogen we replaced.

Roof Tiles go on today, had a minor delay with our bricks! Should be here next week.

Just a post to say that I have a fantastic SS. The guy is on top of everything and communication is absolutely A grade. Whenever I call he returns my straight away. If something needs to be fixed I can trust him that it will be done. Also my BC is equally as good. PD you need to reward these employees as they are an asset to the company and the brand.

At the end of the day what this means to me is that I can sit back, relax and watch my house being built with the confidence that it will be built correctly.

Went past the block today. All is going well. Roof tiles are on, insulation up and plumbing hose being done.

This question is probably worthy of a 'well derr' response, but I was wondering, do you think that Prestige is allocated the best BC's and SS's, and the cheaper you go the worse they get? Or is it just the luck of the draw?

I would say its luck of the draw.. (well thats how it appears)

We have hit a minor snag tonight.. Didnt notice it until now. Our roof heights in the entrance are 9feet. Our doors including the front, master bedroom and bulkhead are all 23xx high.. our lovely garage door.. (which was a extra! :twisted:

) is only 2040 high..

It looks really bad! Gonna have to see if we can get a variance.. the frame is actually up however. :th:

Hi everyone,
Wow our build is going fantastic SS is wonderful & rep!
Only thing that peeved me today & thought I'd share with you all!!!
I chose my handles for my kitchen at hopetoun back in oct last year!
Well my kitchen was fitted with the incorrect handles because the girl put the wrong code in the system!! I'm really peeved because PD are expecting me to pay for the replacement of the pot drawers for the correct handles!
All other cupboards are just a straight swap over! But due to the potbdrawers having bigger handles I am having to foot the bill!
I think it's disappointing that I am being made to pay for a mistake that PD have made!

On a positive note it's the only thing during the build that has annoyed me!
The quality & speed of the build I am very happy with ;-)

Like trista feel my SS should also be valued. He is outstanding ;-)

Hopefully this will be useful for everyone.
A typical 50W halogen emits between 800 and 950 lumens. In contrast, a fluorescent lamp produces more of its output as light instead of heat. Therefore a 13W compact fluorescent light emits the same number of lumens, while an 11-13W LED lamp emits the same 800 lumens. Keeping in mind that some of us are still waiting for titles, by the time we are ready for lights I imagine LED will have surpased Halogen. For those of you with not so much time would you be able to persist with some what lower levels of light or bolster with some funky lamps in preparation for the future. I don't think I'm being unrealistic in saying LED will catch and pass halogen within 12 months. Just a thought.

Has anyone fixed Wirly birds on their roofs, when we raised this with our BC we were informed that only house that have Colourbond roof should consider fixing Wirly birds...Is this true ?

WOW they are building you house super fast, when was the official start construction date (site scrape)? It’s good that your SS is letting you install flooring before handover.

Interesting.. we got scraped on the 14th August.. Bricks start Thursday. Plumbing Rough ins and tiles were done yesterday, insulation and wrap today. :th:

our nieghbors (also PD) started a week before, they were getting the gyprock/plaster installed yesterday. There heater is already in, ducting and what not.
