So I guess I'll just chalk this up as another thing which I potentially wish I'd done differently. We've gone for the shower rails as well and sure enough in the drawings at least the top of the rail is at 1800mm. Looking at the photos from what I can tell that's probably about right relative to the top of our tiles at 2000mm. However the shower head is at the end of a fairly long piece so at 185cm I might still be ok. Man I wish you'd built your house and done the blog before we got started on the process so I'd have been better prepared! You are absolutely helping out the guys in here!! Fantastic work!! love your blog. Re: Porter Davis homes 16770Mar 26, 2018 2:57 pm ![]() That looks like pearl grey in a colonial profile which is the same as the greenvale display, right? Don’t know why there would be any difference to this and the shaker profile. Lovely cabinets by the way! We selected the shaker profile for our Madison 45, and had to select Aries as the colour, they are definitely available to only a limited set of colors. Very similar to the colour in the photos. Pro tip: the limited colour range (where applicable) are attached to the backside of the door profiles at world of style. Hi Charly6s, Firstly, I love how you refer to the group as our 'team'. So true and I love it haha ![]() Secondly, this is something we picked up as well, only because I stand @ 189cm and having the top of the shower rail @ 180cm is just silly (also, the 1960's home we demolished had the outlet & shower head @ 160cm, which was just hilarious for all concerned) ![]() We actually went with 1900, not 2000, because the shower screen is only 2000 , and I was worried about water going over the top and making a mess everywhere. The shower head is angled up, so it still gives me enough room underneath. My better half is also only 166cm, so I didn't want to make it out of her reach! Each to their own though, and great call-out! Hope everyone is doing well - we are in the period between demolition and site-start. Can't wait to get going!!! I was told end of March PCI in the beginning of the month, but nothing has happened last few weeks. I dont have garage flashing done and therefore no ceiling nor garage door. These are the big ticket items. There are many other things inside. I was away last week and I can see there were no trades onsite for the whole week. My remainibg 10% to pay has drastically come down after the adjustments as I removed flooring and some facade work. Clearly PD is not interested in recovering the remaining balance anytime soon. If you have bathroom elevation plans then draw on them where you want the mixers moved to and email her, that way she can forward it to drafting and it does not get lost in translation and you have a paper trail of asking for it. There were plenty of people that went before us who helped you and I along with the process... we are just passing the knowledge on, aren't we. Yes, I think of us as a team, all helping each other throughout the builds, I know some people will come and go as they start and finish their journeys with Porter Davis, but I like the idea that a group of people are around to ask questions of and here to help. I know a lot of people watch and read and don't post anything until they get to contract stage or site, but like I did, they read all the posts and feed off the information and wisdom of others. I hope I can give as much back as I have taken from these forums. Cheers C. Re: Porter Davis homes 16779Mar 26, 2018 11:50 pm ![]() Work on my site has now come to complete stand still. That really sucks, especially given you're presumably pretty close to being all done. I'd be talking to your BC and SS to find out what is going on, what does the timeline look like and when you can expect PCI and handover.
