Just be careful with those, I know the weight of the TV when extended can be quite a bit and people have had issues before with them coming off the wall.

Thanks for your feedback yes it's really important to make sure that you drill the unit into a stud not into plaster because plaster doesn't hold much.

Of course, I've even heard horror stories of the screws coming out of the studs when TV's are too heavy, would hate for the wall to be destroyed in a brand new place.

Now that everything is done, would you use PD again despite the difficulties you have had with getting things fixed and the issue with stolen items?

I've found their communication is severely lacking which is especially important to me - I work in customer service so it's interesting being on the other side of the fence.

Unfortunately thats not how it works.. if they currently own the block then they are liable for it. You send them x3 fencing quotes for them to select one and after a certain time 30 days i think then you can go ahead and invoice them for there half.

I had a similar situation to this when I bought my previous house. The guy that owned the house also owned the spare block of land beside it, so he never put a fence up on the boundary.

Upon moving in we asked him about going halves in the fence. At first he said he was planning to sell the block of land in 6 months time and asked if I wouldn't mind waiting. I explained to him we had a dog and he's the type of dog that go wandering without a fenced yard.

He's was also a dog person, so that was enough for him to agree and pay his half, so it was a good result for us.

I think in the end it only ended up being $1500 for his share. I'm not sure what the cost will be for your neighbour WGB, but if its anything similar, I don't understand how people could be so unreasonable about paying that.

The total cost is $2300 so half of that. They had a copy of the quote so could easily see their half.

As im building im paying for all of the fencing to be replaced thats been removed. I havent even asked my neighbor as hes a great guy and will do anything for us.

I approached our neighbor to go halves for the old fence between us...She says since we are doing KDR, its our responsibility to pay the full amount for the fence :shock:

. When i asked is that as per the rule book, she bluntly said yes. I came back home, did some googling but didnt find anything like that... but what i found in whirlpool and other forums that, if they dont want to pay, they would ignore your quotes, mails etc and not respond for days which would drive you nuts... some suggested its not worth chasing the neighbor with legal action considering the legal process related hassles and peace of mind.. At this point i am not sure what would be my future action, but i think i would give it another try in a more peaceful way...

Follow the process and dont let this tight arse get away with it as they have NO SHAME saying that to you.

We had our PCI yesterday which went ok but not as smoothly as we'd hoped. The PD inspector and the Darbecca inspector had both been through the day before, apparently PD passed it but Darbecca had plenty of issues of varying degrees.

We talked through the Darbecca report, some of the stuff was issues that we'd talked about previously and decided we were ok with, some were things that were always going to get addressed post PCI, and some were new.

We've got some external doors that need to get to BAL standard, scratches on window frames, a garage that has a slope backwards, a shower niche that slopes inwards rather than outwards, some gaps in the al fresco roof, window frames that haven't been sealed properly, tiles in the showers that haven't been sealed off at the top, doors that are sticking, glass windows that need replacing, and a bunch of paint marks and general cleaning or tidying up that needs to be done.

So the good news is that structurally everything is fine, but there are a fair amount of other issues to address. We were hoping to have handover two weeks after PCI but our SS said he'd have to check to see now, I think having to redo the shower niche could be the issue as it'll need to be re waterproofed, re tiled etc.

Hopefully we'll get an update today on a handover date and we can start getting ready to move!
