Glad to hear about the site costs going down! I am not sure if it's odd... I'd think they would send the documents to get the council and developer permits after the land titles as they need to send everything to them. Maybe they're planing to get the second soil test before the land titles and get all the permits before that? For us getting the council permits was the last thing to do prior to getting our site start.. I assumed that they would need the land to title before they can do the council and developer approvals, I hadn't thought about the soil test being part of that but I guess that makes sense as well. They're definitely not planning on getting the second soil test before the land titles though as they told me they needed to wait for that in case the developer decides to put more fill on there etc. In any case hopefully they will have everything prepared so that as soon as either the land titles or the second soil test is done they can get the plans in for developer and council approval asap as we want to maximise our chances of an early site start as much as we can. Has there been any update on your water meter? Also PD did not submit our council approval. We had to as the client submit it ourselves. Is that the case in your area. If so call the council in advance and ask for a detailed explanation for what they require to help with the application. They've updated the document since we left our deposit Feb 2016. We just had the slab done and received nothing from PD except for the invoice. My building co-ordinator rang on Friday to tell me when frame would start and I asked to see a copy of the PD inspector's report for the slab. She said that would be fine and that she would arrange it. Our inspectors report was between 15-20 or so pages with photos and sections of building standards included. Should I get all of them? which ones are recommended? If I don't get the pre-pour and the slab inspection will they still check these things if I hire them for the frame inspections or I need to make sure to get them for the slab as well? Just at a glance I was thinking the slab, the frame, the pre plaster and the PCI. how does that sound? If you think I should get something else or it's too much then please let me know why... BTW, you guys ROCK! If you call them up they will send you an email with a list of discounted prices which applies if you do two or more inspections. You can also save more money by combining two of the inspections, I forget which ones. Going from memory it is costing us a bit less than $3k for all the inspections. Very true but now it's getting harder to book them for the day you need one, they can have a week delay  I had to miss our pre paint one because of this very reason.
