Hooray for your slab! Was it poured on Monday? It was raining in the city all day!

I wouldn't say pouring but yes it was wet but they were able to do it Monday. They started a 7am and were done in a few hours

were told the frame is ready but the rain again will hold us up.. looking like next week. Im so excited i can't wait!

Oh you're very lucky to get the slab poured at least. Sounds like slab and frames are fairly quick to do.

We still not moving anywhere- 9 months after tender (11 months after sales) and we still don't have build permit. But last Friday it's still on track for 23/9 site start apparently..... I'll believe it when I see it. But I'm going overseas for three weeks the night before!

so I'm going to get The independent inspector to take photos for me.

this sounds exactly like us! you WILL get there eventually.. whats the problem with the permit
we got held up big time with council dispensation and leagl point of discharge, permit was like a week.

which area are you again? and what month were u told at sales would be site start?

inspectors should defiantly take photos and include in their report for you.

We have our three month coming up and fortunately haven't got too many issues to address, the flapping in the ceiling, especially above our bedroom, is the main concern. I agree though that the pain quality is poor. We have streaks all across ours where my husband has put an electronic level. Our problem for that but surely it's not supposed to leave such clear impressions, and the paint has come clean off the edge of one of our doors.

I get the feeling that in general we've been pretty lucky with the quality of our build.

Side note, we finally had our curtains installed today. If anyone is considering using Dollar Curtains & Blinds after handover, I'd recommend seeing if you can get them in early to measure up & be prepared for headaches

. Took us six weeks for our order to be ready, only to discover on install day that the bedroom curtains were made to the wrong length (we at least got the blinds in the living area in then). It then took another 3 weeks for the curtains, 9 weeks in total

We're happy with the quality of the product but the service was a nightmare, a ton of poor communication & other issues too numerous to mention here.

our plumbing was done last thursday and basically noone has been on site since as far as i know anyhow as nothing has been done. if pour gets called off friday i am going to be fuming as bulding manager had already asked (knowing slab pour was monday) if we were happy for the frame to start going up as son as friday...there probably wont be anything to put a frame on by then lol and of course he cant start on a wet slab...watch this space i guess. im sure we are gonna get surprises along the way, maybe the fact ive given him a shake up may see the slab get in before thurdsday because at the moment it is like summer here!

Update for us. Ours was finally ready for inspection (with minimal fix ups) yesterday and due to pour today.... fact ... that its just in time for the downpour of rain today and they wont be taking the risk... uffff... oh well.. hopefully by next week we have a slab

guess what we got today, not without incident lol but we have it!....actually pic is on my phone but if you check my fb link all the pics are on there, only thing i love about our block is because it is at the bottom of a hill we can visit the site and see everything going on from the top without having to go down there ha ha...

Thanks for the encouragement- def need it! Especially as I just got. Voice message saying my BC last day at work is today and I'll hear from my THIRD BC next week. I really don't know if they can still hit 23/9. I hope they do!

We were similar to you with dispensation. In the end we just changed our design to comply without dispensation as I ran out of steam to fight and wasn't getting support from PD. The council was even providing me alternative design suggestions etc that we liked! But PD disagreed.

We are building in city of Monash. Which council do you have to deal with? We originally had April site start (hence the demolition in March) and now sept site start is revised deadline. How far off their quoted site start date was your actual site start in the end?

As a rule, we only supply a site cost once a site survey and soil test is done so we can give you more accurate information. 2 days ago I finally went to tender and signed the tender document.
Day 1 after tender wich was yesterday, i start again contacting my broker to start organizing my finance. And later he told me that the bank wont finance a PR with overseas income like me. So I have to back off and cancel the process.
Thirs morning I emailed my building coordinator to cancel the process, which still within my 48 hours grace period, i decided not to proceed, i called Bianca Sherman my Building Coordinator several times but no answer. I leaved messages but she didnt get back to me. I emailed her again an again until she said that she has other hing to do not just sitting in front of computer and cant answer phone when she has to do something else. Just an hour ago she said that finance just calculate only to refund me $6449.31 out of $2000 i paid at the begining on sales quotation with James Manegas and another $10000 2 days ago when I signed the tender document.

I know that if I back of I will loose all my $2000 initial deposit.
But not partial of the $10000 i just paid 2 days ago.

What for the grace period if within that period I decide to back off then Porter Davis took more of my money?

I need the $10000 to be refunded.
Porter Davis can take the $2000. But nothing from the $10000.

I would have to agree with you... He was our sales consultant and i cannot speak any more highly of him... he just knows whatyou want and he is completely no BS

Anyone put the showerheads on a hose in your PD home? Where is your hose connection located? Seems like mine is in a high-up strange place but not sure if i am jumping the gun and it's actually fine?? On the plan the hose connection spot is close to the tap... This pic is ensuite, bathroom is the same and they both have showerheads with the hose connection...

Oh no! that must be so frustrating! our BC has actually been really helpful. shes on to it! and understands we like to be kept in the loop. fingers crossed your new person is onto it!!!! oh no!! i feel had we gone double story we would of had the same issue. we are Moreland council. we were told start month may! signed in dec last year. the time to build is 280 days when our site start letter shows 19 weeks.lol sooooo not really sure what or when it will be finished. 4 months from suggested site to actually starting.

im actually in shock.... our slab got poured last Monday, frame started on wed and by friday the whole frame was up! today we saw the trusses being delivered which was super exciting... im sure things will begin to slow for us soon... but would be nice to get it done in the 19 weeks stated, praying for not alot of hold ups!!! and good quality work

Since PCI we've found further damage to our house. The cleaners(?) seem to have used something harsh on a couple of surfaces, grrrr this will only delay handover even further. We are now a week over contract. Handover is scheduled for Friday but our house is still a mess. Bowed walls, wonky cabinetry and really poor paintwork.
Will be updating my blog later tonight if you want to see more pics.

Handover is 12pm tomorrow, I'm told the paint will be cleaned from the windows but I'm not sure about the window lock that might need to be replaced.
We are building the Montague 19.

Dont want to jinx us... but so far so good we are 3 weeks in i think or could be 2... 3 since cut and we have slab, frame, gas lines, all correct window, upgraded ones and all...that look amazing i should add... and our roof tiles got delievered today!!! So excited and so far so good..
Feeling like the luck is bound to end of.things will come to a big hult soon. Fingers crossed. What comes next?????
